This dark brown to black beer is packed with aromas of chocolate cake, cocoa, coffee, some butter and dried fruits. Flavor is sweet-based with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, lightly bitter coffee, and a savory touch. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Pours a pitch black, disel oil black color, topped with a medium sized and slowly settling head, dark cream color. Aroma is pleasant and easy to note, lots of chocolate with some nutty presence and a tad of vanilla. Taste slightly sweet, roasty presence of the malt in the body, slightly bittery. Some alcohol presence is noticeable, but not even close to 12%. Chocolatey and a bit sugary addition. Nice and very drinkable. A bit strong for everyday, but definitely a treat.

Bottle from the mikkeller webshop. Pours jet black, dark and nicely shaped head. Smell is bitter, thick, with a big sweet side, that seems ... Off, in a way. Taste is sweet, thcik, bitter chcolate. Still, the โoffโ taste kinda throws me off. Sweat, plastic, just something really off is going on here. Not chocolaty, to me. Appart from this... Specific aspect, shall we say? Its a pretty damn good beer. But this aspect is so-up front and so off-throwing to me, this completely ruins the beer. Does it have something to do with the cocoa, or is it a brewing flaw that comes out by drinking this room temperature?

A pitch black, a head is medium and dark brown. Aroma has liquirice, cocoa, honey and hint of smoke. Taste has salt liquirice, roastiness, some honey, not too sweet, drying bitterness in the end. Full bodied, smooth, no alcohol. Marvellous beer.

330 ml bottle. Pitch black body with practically no head. Aroma has dark malt, cocoa and lots of heather honey. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, relatively well hidden alcohol and too much honey. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste with the same flavors as the main flavor. Kinda nice sipper, but a bit too much on the sweet honey side for my taste.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at Isobels, Eardisley, Herefordshire, Saturday 31st October 2015. Pours black with a tan head. Thick in the mouth, loads and loads of cocoa. There is a little coffee, this tastes stronger than it is, very thick mouthfeel but cocoa, with a bit of coffee and vanilla, cocoa flooding back. Very good. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 30 Aug 2015) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and lots of cacao. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark chocolate, cacao, black coffee and lots of bitter chocolate coming through in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. Thick and slightly oily mouthfeel. Lots of cacao and coffee. Possibly not perfectly balanced, but very tasty. Lovely beer.

16/X/15 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 3/IX/25 (2015-1487) Thanks to Anthony for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy irregular beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: weird, dusty, sourish, soapy touch. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: alcohol, sweet, sugary, cocoa powder. Aftertaste: caramel, dark chocolate, sweet, alcohol, sourish, very bitter, cocoa powder. Was expecting way more of this.
