Don’t know where I picked this up but it must have been one of the trips to Texas in ‘17. Pint bottle. Orange with a thin, frothy head. Mild banana bread and whiskey aroma. A bit of oak. Taste is sweet to bittersweet up front, ends dry and warm with a light bitterness and more banana. Body to the full side of medium. Missing a fruitiness that would give this one more depth. Not bad though

Can. A- Weak coffee, malty, mild wood. A- Mahogany color, clear liquid, tan head. T- Coffee, watery, malty, subtle iron, creamy. P- Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- How this is an english strong ale I have no idea. Fairly light colored, light bodied. Hardly any flavor. I thought this was a stout when I bought it. Not impressed.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thick but ultra-fast-dying tan head attat about 6 centimetres tall at first that fades down to nothing a few seconds later, like a soda. Aroma of disgusting worstechire sauce, soy sauce, grain, alcohol and pungent earth/funk/roasted malt with nothing around that is anywhat worthwhile. Medium-bodied; Strong funky anise and licorice flavour at first with a big medicinal and mushroomy flavour throughout with a big dose of grain and funk right behind, all with the pungent bitterness that is the spice and profile raging on. Aftertaste is incredibly pungent with the roasted malt and bitterness noticeable that wasn't before. Overall, a decent, if easier imperial stout with a stupid amount of flavours , most not in a good way , with the anise and licorice throghout. Mushrooms and funk then shortly thereafter with a bunch of pungent flavours and nothing left to settle score with. I sampled this 50 cL wax-topped bottle purchased from Spec's Liqours in Dallas, Texas on 01-September-2015 for US$9,04 sampled at home in Washington on 26-November-2017, a bit more than two years of aging it myself. The age didn't seem to do many favours though with these pungent notes and assertive qualities already inside the bottle. Not worth buying and definitely not worth aging for a long time if you already DO have a bottle, like I did! Bottle Date: 20-November-2013 // Purchased: 01-September-2015 // Sampled: 26-November-2017, a full four years after bottling.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown color, almost black. Beige head. Aroma of citrus, pine, dark malts. Taste citrus, grapefruit, and a substantial piney bitterness, with some chocolate and roast notes. Decent, but would have preferred more emphasis on the dark malt component.

Pours virtually black with a frothy tan head. Tangerine, rubber, earthy smells. Taste is citrus, lots of citrus, bitter, quite tart, pineapple going into the finish. Overall more hops than chocolate in the foundation, but still good.

A lightly hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light woody notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light tannins, tartness, light white grapeskins, light citrus pulp, very nice and complex. Tasted with GRM and Omhper, March 2017.
