500ml bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. Clear gold. Half decent white foam collapses to a thin but lasting film. Some syrupy notes here although there’s just enough peppery hop to cope. Nicely nutty grain as it loses its chill. Taste is light sweet with a good bit of spicy peppery bitterness. Drinks good overall. Light bitter finish. The initial syrupy thing seems to subside as you go along and leaves a nice Marzen.

Gold with a foaming white head of modest duration. Aroma of dough and apple vinegar. Taste is faintly bitter up front, then finishes sweet with lots of buttered white bread on the tongue. Body to the light side of medium, moderate carbonation, faintly watery texture. Drinkable but not much fun.

Bottle from Cornelius. Clear golden body with a white head. Fine carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of marzipan and shortbread. Flavour of white bread and a shortbread. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. This is fine but perhaps lacking a touch of bitterness for balance.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. If people don’t like lager why the fuck do they drink them? Clear pale-ish gold. Very decent white swede here. Nose has semi sweet bready grain. Bit of a bread crust thing. Light peppery hop. Taste is nicely bitter with a soft sweetness. Drinks foamy and easy. Light dry light bitter finish.

Bottle from Great Grog. Hazy golden body with a thin white head that fades. Lively carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of grass, yeast and basil. Flavour of green banana and minerals. Medium body with a snooty mouthfeel. Very fizzy. It’s overcarbonated but flavoursome.
