Description
Pump House Brewery debuted its first beer, Cadian Cream Ale, at 4pm on September 3, 1999, at the brewpub on 5 Orange Lane in Moncton.
Since then, we've been honoured to craft and refine a stellar lineup of brands, including our beloved Blueberry Ale, Cadian Cream Ale and Muddy River Stout–all of which have stood the test of time thanks to our skilled team of brewers and our wonderfully loyal fans.
Significant milestones include the opening of our full-scale production and packaging facility on Mill Rd. in 2002, which enabled us to distribute our beers across Atlantic Canada.
Then, in 2005 we had the distinct honour of cleaning up at the Canadian Brewing Awards and ultimately being named Canadian Brewery of the Year.
In 2016, we introduced the Crafty Radler and the game changed for us.
Combining a high-alcohol beer with a custom-designed fruit soda was unheard of at the time and people really took to our unique formula.
Initially launched in June as a summer seasonal, it quickly became a fan favourite, selling over 160,000 cans by the end of that summer.
Since then, Crafty Radler has put the Pump House brand on the map selling millions of cans all over the world!
In December 2020, Brian Harriman, Brad Devarennes, and Kolin Barley, three local long-time friends united by a shared passion for brewing and craft beer, took over the ownership of Pump House Brewery.
With a fresh vision and boundless enthusiasm, they have been driving the Pump House to new heights.
Under their leadership, the brewery not only continues to produce popular beers like our Nio 9 Starkhöl and our Uncommon Kölsch (yes, we seem to love umlauts), but has also expanded into Spirits and Ready-To-Drink beverages (RTDs) with Crafty Vodka, Unnecessary Vodka, Venerdi Italian Soda and Real Vodka Water, enhancing our product lineup and reaching new markets across Canada and into the United States.

Tall can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Jan 22, brought by me. Pours a hazed orange, modest white head. Aroma of blood orange. Nicely fruity profile, hides the alcohol very well, though tastes a lot like sparkling fruit pop along the lines of San Pelligrino blood orange. For a radler it's pretty good, but does veer a little too far towards being an alcoholic soft drink.

30.04.2021. Cloudy orange, slightly orangy head. Heavy synthetic smell of shampoo store, fake fruit, cloying sweet. Very nice body for a radler, soft and beery. Taste is sweet, with some soft peach at the end, a bit of blood orange, and light beer. Meh.

Can (3/25/21) pour from Andover Classic Wines. It's a hazy light brown with nice sparkle, thin cap of off-white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong initial grapefruit, later tangerine. Taste mirrors aroma exactly with mild underlying malt backbone. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, crisp and refreshing like a Fresca/juice drink. Not very beer-y.

0.473 l can from 't Biermenneke, canned in April 2021. Hazy, golden orange with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity, minimally artificial aroma of tangerine, orange and lemonade. Quite sweet, a little sourish, fairly fruity, minimally artificial taste of tangerine, orange, grapefruit and lemonade, followed by a short, gently bitter, minimally tart finish. Thin to medium body, minimally astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent Radler.

Can from Beerdome. Hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is sweet, sugary, peach and citrus. Flavor is quite sweet. Sweet finish. Artificial. Better than most radlers, but that doesn’t say much. 061021

473ml can. Hazy, pink-ish, golden colour with average, dense, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, fruity, citrusy aroma, slightly artificial notes of peach, minimally disguised hints of blood orange, in parts quite interwoven fruitiness, a touch of citric acid. Taste is sweet, sugary, fruity, slightly dry, tart-ish citrusy, pale malty basis, diluted notes of blood orange, just a touch of peach, some citric acid; a turnaround of predominance of the respective fruit flavours compared to the nose. Watery texture, smooth, minimally dry, minimally astringent palate, medium, soft carbonation. Not too artificial, very refreshing and drinkable - not bad.
