Crystal clear light amber colour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, light floral scents with a nice malt background. Medium to Full-bodied; Sweet taste with floral flavours and a grapefruit/citrus taste. Aftertaste clean, some alcohol showing, with a clean malt presence. Overall, REALLY nice to try...definately worth trying to find, and by far the best Imperial IPA i've had to date! This is an Imperial IPA for haters of the style! Many thanks to egajdzis for the twelve ounce bottle which we sampled it at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on 27-December-2003. Thanks again Eric!

I sampled a one year old and just couldn't groove on it too much. I just love British Barley wine, but once again I find American BW too hoppy. The nose was beautiful I have to admit with peaches, raspberries and whiffs of chocolate. However, the body was not rounded at all and was a total hopfest while the malt only gave off cloying caramel attributes. Finishing nice and bitter. Not bad, but somewhat overrated in IMO.

Re-rate from bottle. Pale golden, big bubbles, lacing foam. Fresh grassy and citric hop nose. Medium light body, sparkly, Very pleasant and fresh. 6 3 8 3 14 A bit soapy aroma. Low head, straw golden. Flavor is a pleasant hop composition based on citrussy notes. Lightish.

Light golden colour with no head at all. Crystal-clear; Light malty aroma with some slight hoppiness and a mild fruity quality. Medium-bodied; Nice malty taste, coats the mouth nicely-good fruit qualities. Aftertaste clean, but showing some malt characteristics and a bit of the mouth-coating sweetness. Overall, very nice to try and a decent lager! I got this twelve ounce bottle courtesy of a local friend who got this at Hampton Beer Distributor in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. I sampled this one on 11-December-2003.

Orangey colour, with small floaties. Aroma of peach, orange, light chocolate malt. Well-constructed malt profile – toast, a little caramel, some background alcohol. Straightforward, but so cleanly put together you can’t help but be impressed by its simple beauty.

Aroma of honey and citrus. Light gold. Head is very large but very thin. Flavor is light with some citrus and also honey. Has qualities of a mead or a white wine. Thin. A disappointing example of one of my favorite styles.

Golden colour with nice frothy head. Dry malt aroma with some german hops. Dry bitterness coming from Saaz hops (?)which lingers pleasantly. A classic pils.

2003 draught. Muddy caramel brown, with some dark browns, tans and lighter brownish yellows. Very cloudy, big medium brown light coffee colored head. Light wheat aroma, some alcohol, definitely peaches and mabye some brown sugar or caramel malt. Begins with a big dose of malty sweetness, which is accented even further by a rich peachy flavor. Wonderful chewy/grainy texture that provides a full body. Tons of wheat in here. Lighter, sharper hops come out in the finish; apricots sugar and finally some nice yeasty flavor. Big alcohol notes, (but not too big). Bananas and more sweetness linger on the palate after the finish. Very impressive, though could definitely stand to tone down the sweetness.

Helles version. Pretty light, almost a straw color. Fizzy fading head. Light aroma with only a hint at grassy hops, a bit of buttery malt. Very clean, flavor is weakened. Even-handed bitter finish is well balanced. Some grassy and spicy hop flavors begin to appear late.
