33cl bottle @ Monks Cafe Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pitch black, opaque color, medium sized beige head. Smell malts, lightly alcohol, some caramel. Taste malts, dark malts, slightly roasty, caramel, some coffee. A bit thin texture, but it’s not that much bothering me. Medium carbo, low to medium body.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, with a small creamy head. Not too much aroma here, but some caramelly malts and some notes of smoke. Flavour is burned malts and coffee, giving this a dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, unclear dark red brown, with a creamy head. A lot of sweet caramel malt in the aroma, but not much to balance out the sweetness. A similar story for the flavour, though with a bit of burned sugar giving a whiff of bitterness. Not very bad, just a bit boring.

Smells like ass, tastes like crap but after the Amsterdam Maximum I just drank on the Roca train this is bliss. Mind you everything is relative, and the free peanuts at my side d favours for this beer in Adrogue. The colour is cloudy - I don’t really have any other more complimentary statements to make about it. A little better than the average lager. Some malty grain taste.

There is a very light aftertaste of oak. Soft carbonation, red colour. Nothing special - unremarkable scotch ale. 500ml bottle in Mar del Plata after hanging around teh Dakar 2012 rally opening.
