[Cask at the Hampshire Octoberfest, Basingstoke] A hazy pale amber pour with a white head; rather acetyl aroma - a whiff of glue; but pleasantly grassy in the mouth, with some sweetcorn; and a dry flinty finish.

Bottle from Grumpy Goat, Reading. Aroma combines sweet yet tart berries, coffee and liquorice. Dark and glossy. Creamy beige head recedes. Medium-heavy bitter. Charcoal and liquorice. Tart berries. Underlying malty chocolate. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. More interesting and packing more of a punch than I expected.
