Description
We started brewing in Burton-Upon-Trent in 1834. Then in 1898 we got itchy feet. So we moved down the road to the Albion brewery. We still like it so we’ve not moved again since.
We came to Burton for the water. Well, for the rocks the town was built on to be precise. The water trickles down through a thick layer of gypsum before we bring it back up again through our well. That’s what gives our beers the depth of flavour, character and crisp refreshing bitterness that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Cask at the Penny Black, Bicester, 15-04-06, served a bit on the chilly side for my liking, malty and in truth little bit sweet, some hops and decent bitterness, not bad but nothing special.

Bottle at Bishops Arms in Sudnsvall, Sweden ni July 2005.Dark amber color, white head. Nice fruity smell. Clean taste that’s easy to get used to. A nice enough beer, but perhaps not very exciting.

Bottle picked by dad from Home Bargains, Alfreton, cheers dad. Consumed at home Monday 25th December 2017. I think that this is due a re-rate, it's been 11years since I last rated and probably not far off of that since I lasting had it which was probably many years ago. Lots of toffee, chewy but with a good malty sweetness throughout. Dark brown with a ruby glint, drinks very easy. Some dark sugars, a little fruity linger. Far better than my old rating suggests A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.5
Old Rating from 2006 Another beer that I used to drink regularly when living in Worcester friends in my local often used to ask for a Pedirog basically half and half of Pedigree and Owd Roger I think this was owing to the strength of drinking a whole pint of the Owd Roger. A very dark red coloured ale nice toffee sweetness, very full bodied but the alcohol just lingers a tad too much though to be a classic of it’s style.A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0

Used to drink this regularly when living in Worcester and usully have one when I am back there ’like last weekend’. This is usually always a pretty reliable beer, amber in colour, slightly sulphourus nose (presumably from the water used) nice refreshing with a good bitter and hoppy finish.
