This beer poured a bright orange-caramel color with a trace white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was light sweet caramel and faint citrus. The flavor was tart orange, lemon, sour caramel and pepper. The finish was medium length citrus and caramel. Medium body.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David Cohen. Clear amber. Aroma with some hops, flowers, guava, some malt and light grainy hints. Flavor has light sweetish notes with faint malt and lots of hoppy bitterness. Medium-bodied.

On tap at the Bocktown Monaca, nice place. Nice darker yellow orange color. No head. Barely any aroma, just clean clear and crisp. First taste is certainly marzen and fest but the aftertaste is medium hops. Bitter weaker IPA feeling begins to build in the back of the throat. Very little CO@ in this brew. Yep, this is an evolvingt beer; starts as an octoberfest then finishes like a mediocre IPA.

Bottle @ Dan’s house, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks Armin! Ruby red with a touch of orange and a tan head. Dull fruity (cherry/berry), belgian yeasty, light candy sugar aroma. Dull, mildly tart cherry, dark belgian ale flavor. Not much candy sugar in the flavor and it’s nice that it is not syrupy like some quads.

Sampled on draft at D’s in Monroeville this beer poured a dark golden color with a medium sized white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was tart, crisp, floral, grassy and a touch perfumey. The flavor was dry and bitter with lemongrass and perfume. The finish was long, dry and hoppy. Light body. Eh.

Medium yellow body with a thin head. Big juicy malt aroma. The flavor is sweet overall and a bit one dimensional.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a black color with a huge foamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was very strong dry cinnamon, nutmeg, sour malts and ginger. The flavor was dryish and completely dominated by strong cinnamon, nutmeg and candied ginger. No discernible stout presence. Long, dry and spicy finish. Med body. Incredibly one dimensional and disappointing.

I swear I saw a little steam or something rising from this when they poured it. Odd aroma of wood on old leather. Weird strong spicey initial flavors smack you in the face with a big alky backbone. Wew! Bitter like wow. Interesting and unique but a little over the top. I’m not a fan of spicey beers and this just reinforces that line of thinking. Don’t know what to make of this. This is a one timer fer sure. Does not hide alky well and even tho there is no hops in this brew it sure is bit bit bitter, like gramma’s cough medicine. Not for the faint of heart. Long bitter medicinal finish and I think I’m getting dizzy near the end of the session. No detectable co2 in this stuff.

No visible co2 in this pale beer. Clean aroma with barely any smell. On the palate it is quite flat also. Quite strong pils bitter bite but it mellows as the session continues. Goes down fairly easy. Finish is OK with a mild medium noble hop linger that seems a little like chewing on an old rubber inner tube. On tap at the Works.

Bottle. Pours reddish muddy brown. Tan head. Nose/taste of dates, dark fruits, cherry, toffee, nuts and alcohol. Medium body. A bit grainy in the mouth feel. Hint of maple and molasses.
