Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a small white-tan head. The aroma was sweet molasses and nutty malt. The mouthfeel is thick. The flavor is sweet and has a strong roasted malt presence and a decent hop profile. The malt turns sour and bitter on the finish. Some bitter chocolate come out as it warms.

A well done Hefe. +++ Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a hazy golden color with a large white head that produced minimal lacing. The aroma was dryish, malty, and yeasty with moderate notes of banana and clove. The flavor was strong banana with moderate clove and bubblegum. The undertone was lightly tart, yeasty and malty. The finish was long with banana and bubblegum lingering. Moderately full bodied. Well done.

A really interesting effort and a beer I hope they make again some day. +++Sampled on draft at the brewery. This one really sounded interesting. It looked great - Dark brown color with just a hint of red. Small tan head. Very strong sweet raspberry aroma. The flavor was tart and smooth. The fruit flavor was a bit weak and vague. The tartness was a bit overwhelming and keeps this one from being a great beer but it was a nice beer none the less.

The best beer I have had at the church. +++Sampled on draft at the brewery. Now this one impressed me. Poured a dark black color with a medium creamy brown head. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. The mouthfeel was thick and smooth. The flavor was strong roasted malt, chocolate and a bit of coffee. Malt lingers on the aftertaste.

I am not a big brown ale fan so this one was not destined to please me much. +++Sampled on draft at the brewery. It poured a dark brown color with a small white head. I did like the appearance. There was a light malt aroma. It was smooth and malty. In reality the flavor was almost exactly that of the Pious Monk with just a bit more malt and smoothness. Rerate 3/12/06. They have really improved this one. The aroma now has a stronger sweet maltiness with a light roasy undertone. The flavor is much more roasty and sweet. This is now a nice brown ale though it remains a style I am not big on.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a medium brown color with a small white head. Very faint malt aroma. The flavor was bitter, nutty and dry with some roasted malt present as well. Actually this tasted a lot more like a brown ale to me than a dunkel. Nothing inspiring here.

Sampled on draft at the brewery. I like Pale ales so this one intrigued me. It poured a light orange color with a small tan head. Rather pretty actually. The aroma was really faint but did have some hops to it. The flavor was sharp, hoppy and bitter. The hops linger on the aftertaste. Really not much balance for an English style pale. The hops while definitely there were not a great flavor. Pretty disappointing. However I have tried this one on cask condition as well and it is far far better that way.

Sampled on draft at the brewery. This one intrigued me the least going into this. Poured a pale golden color with a small white head. The aroma was light and faintly nutty. The body was thicker than I was expecting. The flavor was mild and had a nutty undertone. Mild hops on the aftertaste. Really not too bad.

Malt accent; lightly buttery on the palate; mild yeast finish...............
