Sample at the brewpub. Cloudy straw color with a thin white head and stringy lacing. Aroma of wheat and citrus. Light, thin body with a wheaty character, along with mild citrus and yeast. The finish remains thin and watery with a touch of hops. Fairly weak in all regards.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours pitch black with a wispy tan head and thin spotty lacing. Pleasant aroma of coffee and malt. Smooth and rich mouthfeel with toasted malt, coffee and chocolate flavors. The finish is bittersweet chocolate with a lingering touch of hops afterward. Solid all around.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a murky dark amber color with a medium thin light beige head and spotty lacing. Bready malt aroma, along with a hint of nuts. Medium-bodied and smooth with malt and caramel flavors, plus a bit of chocolate. It kind of falls off though, and the lightly bitter hops aftertaste is short-lived as well. This showed promise at first but ended up being pretty run-of-the-mill.

Sample at the brewpub. Light gold/amber color with a weak ivory head and very little lacing. Aroma of earthy malt and hops. Fairly light body, with a bland floral hops flavor and not much else. The finish is lightly bitter hops with a touch of citrus in the aftertaste. This brew doesn’t really have much going for it.

Sample at the brewpub. Pale golden color with a compact white head with fair retention. Minimal lacing. Light hops and nuts in the aroma. Light body with a clean mouthfeel, and mild but flavorful hops taste. There is a bit of grass and malt in there too. The finish is effervescent and lightly bitter. Pretty good for the style.

I don’t quite understand why this beer has so many low ratings - I really haven’t been this impressed with a "mere pale ale" in quite some time - nice cloudy copper color, with a few suspended floaties - pretty full and spicy aroma, with the herbal quality of the kent goldings showing through - light body, sure, but it is a pale ale, is it not? - biscuity, bready malt is there in abundance, but washes clean in the finish, which may be why others characterize this as "thin-bodied" - semi-dry, toasty finish, with long-lingering hops presence - overall a really nice pale ale, and one that deserves more attention.

Sampled from a 5 liter keg can this beer poured a cloudy bright golden color with a medium sized soapy tan head. The aroma is sweet and yeasty with a noticeable table sugar element. The flavor is moderately sweet and sugary with golden fruits, banana and clove and a hint of a spicy undertone. The finish is a bit medicinal. Decent.
