Location: 22 oz bottle from Greens Discount Beverage - Atlanta (Buford Hwy), 6/8/09

Aroma: Light nose, grainy and some spice, a bit floral, and some caramel there as well
Appearance: Hazy, dark orange color
Flavor: Flavor is mostly a light sweetness, malty grainy flavor, and a bit sour
Palate: Pretty easy drinking, an average mouthfeel, light-medium body
Overall Impression: I thought this one was alright, a bit of an odd tang to it that just didn't work quite right for me. Not awful, but not so good either.

**Just submitted a photo for this one, as it was missing one.

The last beer from this brewer I had had the signs of an infection setting in, and this one has a full-blown infection going on - the nose and flavor are acidic and sour, with just faint notes of the original beer underneath, with flavors of nuts, caramel, bread dough, light fruity esters - I actually don’t mind the infection in this one (some beers taste better sour), but, as I know this is a flaw/unintended result in the brewing/bottling process, I can’t exactly rate this well - even the remnants of the original beer don’t taste all that good - meh.

More of a scottish ale than a scotch ale - hazy amber - soapy lace - the nose is nutty and doughy, with some earthy characteristics, leafy character - the flavor is of semi-bitter herbs and spices up front - moderate sweetness, nutty flavors, a hint of peat, tobacco, gingerbread - there is a tiny bit of tartness and leathery character on the back end that tastes like the onset of an infection (but one of those awesome infections that makes the beer delicious and better than it was) - a tiny bit of acidity on the back amplifies this character - a bit buttery - tastes like a decent recipe, bottled with poor quality control.

My bottle was labeled 5.2 % ABV, and had a light blue label with a similar logo as the black one pictured.

Aroma: Smells of biscuit, dark fruits, and spice
Appearance: Mildly hazy copper color, small head
Flavor: Nice balanced flavor, sweet bread-like malts and some decent hops, a bit nutty
Palate: Medium body, decently dry
Overall Impression: Has some qualities you might associate with an autumn beer, particularly the spice and nuttiness. An interesting beer, not great, but interesting.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Vastly better than Wee Heavy-er in my opinion. Pours with a small, off-white head over a hazed deep brown body. Aroma of raisins, florals, alcohol, caramel, prunes, apricot, raisin bread and mixed berry jam. Taste is raspberry, bread, peat and caramel. Light bubbles and syrupy mouthfeel.

Aroma: Lots of rye, caramel, grass, nutty, citrus
Appearance: Really cloudy red brown color, creamy off-white head, decent lacing
Flavor: Dominated by the rye malts, with some hops filling in the mid to late palates
Palate: Nice mouthfeel, palate (like the taste) improves from start to finish
Overall Impression: Not a huge fan of the initial flavor, but it improves to be a solid rye beer in the middle and finish. More bitter then your standard rye.
