At a tasting, meduimstable head with big bubbles, hazy lemon yellow colour with orange taints, aromas of orange, apple, vanila and some spiciness, flavours of malt, and spice. Reminnds me of hoegaarden but a little to bitter and much to heavy.

Bottle. Chocolate, oatmeal malt, fresh hay, and ash aroma. Black-brown color with giant brown head. Slightly sweet chocolate oat malt, lactic acid and moderately bitter fresh hay flavor. Okay body. Decent but strong lactic acid.

Bottle. Lemon/orange, coriander, wheat malt, and straw aroma - very nice. Cloudy pale yellow with large head. Slightly sweet orange/lemon, coriander. wheat malt, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Okay body - a bit light. On the light side but still very tasty. (Re-rate - improved aroma and appearance but otherwise just as good).

Very nice packaging. Medium palate. Aroma has moderate whiskey, and it is also present in the flavor. I don’t really get the smoke and all, and I suspect the whiskey is covering up all nuance and any complexity that might be in here. A decent beer that would probably be better if not aged in a whiskey barrel. Thanks to Skyview for sharing.

A very old bottle, found on the dusty shelf in a friends house. Pour is cloudy vanilla yellow with big chunks in the bottom of the botttle. Smell is a little off and you can tell its old. Flavor is also very oxidized. Some fine carbonation. Will give this a try again when I get a fresh bottle. Overall, just a really old wheat ale with cardboard.

12oz shorty bottle. Filtered orange-amber color with a fluffy off white-head. Classic Oktoberfest aroma, deep malts and noble hops. Bitter upfront, but quickly fades into a sweet creamy finish. Quite an excellent example of the style, certainly a tad underrated thus far. Medium bodied, lots of thick malt tones. Almost an orange-vanilla yeasty creaminess. Clean, fresh, and full of flavor. Solid.

Bottled. A dark red - almost brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and lots of caramel, almost caramel soup, making it a bit cloying towards the finish. The body is a bit light. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has primary notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of pumpernicle bread, alcohol, and bread - reminds me of a bock. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
