Description
Alexander Keith's beer has been raised in Nova Scotia since 1820. It's a province where the water informs every aspect of its character from dramatic scenery, to distinctive culture and of course, exceptional beer. The coast itself is where everything comes together: the land, the sea, and the people who have called it all home for generations. Our inspiration, since 1820, is derived from these remarkable qualities and the extraordinary people met along the way.

This one poured a clear golden Amber colour with little head. Scents include sour gas, corn and hay. First swig was thin as gasoline with little carbonation. Flavours of hops and flowers with a sprig of spruce. Finish is bitter with spruce flavours overwhelming.

Draught in Parsborro. It pours deep red with a small off-white head. The nose is sweet, sticky, toffee, generic red fruit and some artificial action. The taste is sweet, caramel, sugar, dried fruits, dull bitterness and plastic with a short, dryish finish. Light body and fine carbonation. Watery, sweet and just very basic overall. Forgettable.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a bright yellow-gold color with a medium sized soapy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was tart and bitter with vague fruity hops and a bit of sugar. The flavor was tart, bitter and thin with some lemon and yeast. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle. Pours nearly clear amber with airy off-white head. Mild but clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of hops and yeast and touches of needles. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish notes of yeast and malt and notes of needles. Rough aftertaste with estery and mildly bitter notes. The best beer of the brewery’s hop series but still far from the ideal.

Pours a light golden-amber colour with a foamy off-white head, decent lasting with a little lacing. Fruity nose with some mild grass, bread and caramel. The taste is not as hoppy, but the flavours of oranges are felt. Hints of sweetness from the caramel malts and some bread in the finish. A little tea lingers. Not a bad brew, goes down nicely when cold. Interesting hop this celeia, but not something to go back to a lot. Refreshing and not too dry.
