Deep copper with an off-white head. Pale, toasted malts, bread, some zesty hops. Medium body. Finish has a malty length with a quick snap at the end. A respectable ‘festbier.

Thin bod, med-light carbo. Med-light bitter, light sweet. Kinda neutral, but that is to be expected with blanche. Light Belgiany spiciness, hint of general fruity esters. Clean, easy drinking. Good, even if a bit boring.

Gold with a foamy, white head. Grapefruit and peaches over dankness. Taste is faint bitter. Watery, empty end. Light bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Drinkable and decent given the style, but disappointing.

As 2023 version. A bottle shared at BJCP Judging School, Žminj. Thanks. Unclear brown, oily, minimal head. Aroma is nutty, toasty at first, molasses, walnut and cocoa spread, dried fruit, oak, dates and caramel. Hints of peppery spice. A touch of toast. Slick, smooth, thick, sticky, oily, warming. Sweet, good balance. Juicy cherry and raisin sweetness. A hint of alcohol. Strong but still quite drinkable. Spicy sweet finish.

Thx Seba S for sharing the bottle with us in Žminj! Was constantly distracted, so didn't have much bandwidth to focus on it as much as I should have, but eh. Oxidation evident in the aroma, honeyish notes, but plenty of carob as well, nutty notes, chocolate. Caramel, nutty notes, raisins and wood show up in the oxidized taste. Sweet, but not cloying, some alcohol. Good stuff!

Pours pitch black with no head. Aroma: plenty of roasted cocoa beans, burnt caramel, toffee and pistacchio. Taste: dried fruits, plenty of raisins, wood barrels and wine. Warming mouthfeel. Shared by @fombe. Many thanks.
