23/6/2023. Bottle enjoyed picnicking on Pakefield beach. Pours mid to dark brown with a large frothy beige head. Aroma of toffee, raisins, dark fruits, brown bread, roasted malt, hints of black treacle, liquorice and camp coffee. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Lovely bittersweet dark fruit malty finish. Enjoyed this a lot more than those in 2016!

Bottle from Drove Orchards, I think. There’s no idea on the label who brews this or what style it’s aimed at. Bit bonkers really. Anyhoo I added as a red ale because it’s more that way inclined than anything. Sits clear deep red. Slim dense pale beige head. Nose has rich malt. It’s a little burnt. Some floral hop. Bit of cut green leaf. Big bitterness with more of the burnt malt character. Full body with fine carbonation. Bitterness on the finish errs toward harsh and acrid.

Rocky off white head stayed on a murky reddish brown body. Red berry, spices & pomegranate aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with lively back & clean aft. Malt, caramel & berry tastes with a limp finish. Rather lacklustre,

Thin light brown head on a still black body. Sweet berries, liquorice & malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a clean back. Malt, liquorice, berries & tangy citrus tastes. Excellent.

17/2/2023. Bottle from Sir Toby's Beers, Norwich. Shared at SBGP1. Pours clear dark amber brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of caramel, dried fruits, malt, liquorice, bread, fruit cake. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Light dryness to finish. Pretty decent.
