5oz pour at Of Love and Regret. Pours a clear, honey gold with zero head and some mild carbonation. Nose is very floral, honey, some ripe fruit, no real hint of any chili. Flavors are the same, sweet honey, flower petals, dripping pear. If there’s any chili, it’s a bit of a peppery pinch on the end. Really smooth finish. Dangerously smooth for something listed at 12% abv.

On tap at Of Love & Regret. Small, ~5oz pour or so (looks like more). Poured a pretty clear golden color with no head to speak of, liquid sticks to the edges real well here. Aroma was mostly honey, slightly floral. Flavor was dry, with a touch of residual sweetness. I didn’t get any chili heat off of this one, though I did have a touch of dry warmth on the throat, though I just attributed that to the high alcohol content more than anything. Nice, but kind of forgettable without that heat that I was hoping for.

Bottle. Light fruity vinegar aroma. Clear gold. Cloyingly sweet honey flavor with a light chili after burn. Full body. Too sweet for my personal taste.

Shared a glass some time ago at the Brick Store Pub. This mead smells nice; lots of honey, with notes of hickory and vanilla. Following the first sip, though, the chilies come forward (Tabasco sauce leaps to mind) and don’t go away. The flavor is sweet, with a lot of earthy spiciness that doesn’t overpower, but is unpleasant and difficult to drink. This is a very unsettling experience in a mead. Wouldn’t recommend.
