Description
The Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery leads the Craft Beer Revolution in Ontario. Brewing radical Beers and creative Ales right on the waterfront in downtown Barrie since 2004, the Flying Monkeys was the first Ontario Craft Brewery to truly recognize the need to overthrow the conservative regime of macro-brews and timid small batch taste-a-likes and create a new Culture of Craft Brewing in our province.

Casting off the comfortable and respectable cloak of the Robert Simpson Brewing Company, and revealing our true selves as the Flying Monkeys late in 2008, we gave rise to the the collective creativity of our Brewery and committed our Brewhouse to the adventurous longings of the growing culture of Craft Beer Lovers in Ontario.

Strange beast but a good one. Pours clear amber with decent head and lacing. Carbonation is pretty high but it’s a lager. Aroma of malt, some booze and lots of piney hops. Definitely good for category, and even holds up well next to most pale ales. Tap at Session.

Another great IPA today from Flying Monkeys. Better than session and runs pretty evenly against Mosaic. Nice tangerine head with some other sweet fruit. Pours cloudy orange with good head and lacing. Bitter and even spicy finish. Average carbonation. Good mileage on aftertaste again. Flying Monkeys definitely had best showing at Session this year.

Wow. I’ll spank the monkey over this beer for sure. Amazing integration. Pours black with good mocha-coloured head and lacing. Roast malt with cane sugar, caramel and chocolate. Finishes sweet and bitter. Great balance on this beer - definitely the best beer of Session in 2013. Hope they keep making this.
