This ale poured a dark amber colour with a quick living, light tan coloured head. Scents include hopps, grass, citrus and caramel. First taste was nicely carbonated with flavours of tea, malt, hopps, and grass. Finish is slightly hoppy with a little bitter flavor with tea lingering.

This ale poured a deep amber colour with a nice, tan coloured, foamy head. Scents include hopps , chocolate , coffee, and caramel. First taste was smooth with flavors of caramel, coffee, chocolate and hopps. Finish is malty, coffee, burnt malt flavors. Palate is burnt with a slight hopp bitterness.

Amber coloured body with a copper glow and a nice, dense thick tan head. Aroma of a mix of fresh hops with a lot of caramel and malt - nice. Medium-bodied; Pungent hoppy flavour with a nice assertive malt backbone and a good strong hop taste with some light caramel and other sweetness. Aftertaste is quite nice with a lot of residual hoppiness and some good malt notes tucked in with caramel and some very light spices. Overall, a nice APA with a bunch of fresh hoppy flavours and some good malt backbone with a touch of assertive, yet mild sweetness. I sampled this pint on draught at Smokeless Joe in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 11-October-2009.

Originally rated January 2009. This light Canadian beer pours a pale yellow colour that is slightly unfiltered and has a small white head that has not much to show for (weak retention and lacing). Very lightly carbonated. The smell though is quite nice for a light brew. Not typical with some bread malt aroma. The mouthfeel is not as watery as I would of expected. Again, the malt shows up in the taste, with some biscuit flavoured malts. So, light beer yes, but above average in this category and accomplishing what they wanted... a micro made for lawn-mowing.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of bitter and citrus hops with light roasted malt notes. Taste is a lot more bitter and citrusy then most other Ontario beer out there. Body is halfway full with good carbonation. Well brewed and not something I would avoid revisiting in the near future.

A dark brown IPA with a thick brown head. In aroma, nice peppery hops over chocolate malts, herbaceous and smooth. In mouth, a nicely roasted chocolate malt with lingering herbal hops, floral, pinhey, quite well done. Thanks probstk!

6-pack from The Beer Store. Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber colour with a little head that vanishes fast enough, leaving a nice creamy lace and top to the brew. Peach-apricot aromas with notes of fresh hop. Crisp mouthfeel that is refreshing with the beautiful hop coming out in the finish. The rest is malty with a touch of caramel. I was quite surprised by this one, with the nice hop used in it. One of the better amber beers from Ontario.

Medium brown color. Lots of roasted malts, toffee and caramel nose. Mildly sweet, toffee, mochachinno, dark cherries, wood a touch earthy. Decent as an English ale, but far from what I would expect from an Cascadian Dark Ale. Good, but just not to style and lacking PNW flavor.

Came in the Ontario Craft Brewer Discovery pack for the 2010 holidays. Written 6.5% ABV on the top label. Pours a dark brown colour and glows of ruby red through it. The head took some time to form (as it stayed small until the end of the pour). This one is beige, has decent lacing and keeps a good coating over the brew. The nose has mostly some hop showing, mixed with a little roasted malt. Nice smooth, silky and refreshing mouthfeel. Mild tasting with some coffee notes, burnt malt and hints of sour citrus in the finish, that disappears in the aftertaste. I do enjoy the different mix that this beer offers, but wish it would be stronger. Pretty refreshing for such a dark brew.
