Description
Launched in 2012 by by Thomas Vogel, Dave Mobley, and brewmaster Troy Smith, Belching Beaver Brewery evolved from a desire to make great beer and have a ‘Dam Good Time’ doing it. The award-winning craft beer company is focused on two things: First, have a brand that offers quality craft beer, while also being whimsical and fun to inspire good times. Each Belching Beaver beer release carries its own individual style and personality. Second, make beer for everyone and all palates. Our San Diego Brewery hosts 5 different locations serving craft beer you're going to love, of which the Oceanside Brewhouse is the production brewery.

335 ml can. Black with a dense lightly tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, milk chocolate, coffee and subtle coconut. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied - creamy. Sweet finish. Way too sweet for my liking.

1 pint can. Pours a very dark brown with full foamy tan head. Aromas of peanut butter and slick roasted malts. Flavors of peanuts with milk chocolate and oily roasted malts. Not getting much spice and peanut butter is on overload. Nice enough though especially if you love peanuts

US pint, on-tap in Heroes & Legends, a sports bar in Lake Forest, California; 27th December 2021. The beer menu called it Viva La Beaver Mexican Chocolate Milk Stout (7.5%), should be the same beer. It came black with a wispy tanned head. Chocolate aroma and taste, couldn't detect any Peanut Butter, but it was viscous and pretty sweet from start to finish, 16oz's was more than enough (they don't do flights or halves in Heroes & Legends, but you can have 34oz pours if you want!).

355ml can from hopt.it, France. Pours black, with practically no foam. Aroma is intense of coffee and peanuts. Body is fairly dense, smooth, oily, with soft carbonation. Taste is rather sweet, though the final is fairly light.

On tap at Homestead foggy light yellow pour. Thin lasting white head. Odd malty aroma and flavor. Bready and biscuity maybe. Modest hop flavors and modest hop bitterness. Clean finish for a double.

My pint can is stamped with a canning date of 8/22/21. West coast style is a step in the right direction in my view of things. I have a snifter out for this tasting with the pour being a yellow-orange liquid topped by a stupendous head of near-white foam. The smell is tropical with some pine and hops lurking. I take a drink, not bad. But not great. Grapefruit, oranges, grass, a bit of turpentine, some maltiness and a touch of hoppy bitterness. Okay but not exciting.

Hazy (but certainly not murky) golden colour and a rocky white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma's of tropical (sweet) fruit and resin, light vegetal. Retronasal the resin is more upfront. Flavour is moderate sweet & bitter. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Moderate bitter finish. Nice enough.
