Description
Launched in 2012 by by Thomas Vogel, Dave Mobley, and brewmaster Troy Smith, Belching Beaver Brewery evolved from a desire to make great beer and have a ‘Dam Good Time’ doing it. The award-winning craft beer company is focused on two things: First, have a brand that offers quality craft beer, while also being whimsical and fun to inspire good times. Each Belching Beaver beer release carries its own individual style and personality. Second, make beer for everyone and all palates. Our San Diego Brewery hosts 5 different locations serving craft beer you're going to love, of which the Oceanside Brewhouse is the production brewery.

Hazy dark blond colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some winey woodchips and a little spice. Something like sweet ginger biscuits in there. Seems to be overly spiced.

Crisp, ever so slightly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a nice three to four centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat for a while. Aroma of light grass, hay, flowers and a dash of wheat, with some light lemon and pine scents picked up from the hops, but not much of those, either. Light to Medium-bodied; Fairly grassy and biscuity malt shows through everything, with a good kick of flowers right away and a small, but noticeable, yeast and breadiness, but the hops and related bitterness do eventually come out in the end with some light alpha acid notes from the piney hops. Aftertaste shows a good balance of malt and hops, both on the softer side of things, but some dry notes, a little bit of sweetness from toffee and caster sugar, but the yeast and breadiness hits a bit harder at the end, as well. Overall, a pretty nice, but relatively understated and mild beer with some hop notes, but nothing on par with Phantom Bride, but of course great to have as a longtime Deftones fan (who wouldn't be) and one who loves beer, too! I sampled this sixteen ounce can, purchased from Trader Joe's in San Francisco, California (Fisherman's Wharf) on 03-April-2021 for US$2,50 in North Beach, sampled all the way on the other side of the country on 25-December-2021, Christmas Day 2021, with my family here in Washington.

(Can, taster, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 4 Dec 2021) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, tropical fruit and pineapple. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of mango, citrus, pineapple, tropical fruit, lemon candy, soft malt and a balanced citric bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Rich and tasty with a good hop profile and a balancing malt presence. But you had me already with Deftones. Very nice.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a foamy dark tan head. Sort of a Guinness head that went foamy. Aroma of chocolate with a strawberry note. Full bodied. Flavor is dark toasted malt with chocolate, vanilla, and notes of strawberry. Gets earthy in the finish. More dry than not. Burnt malt bitterness.

473ml can. Pours a clear brown with red hue and a medium, fizzy, short lived, beige head that laces. Sweet aroma of toasted malt, coconut, milk chocolate, hazelnut, maple syrup, vanilla and mild coffee. Sweet flavour of toasted malt, coconut, maple syrup and dark chocolate in a dry, mild bitter, coffee finish. Light body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Tasty Brown Ale. Easy to drink, but a little thin.
