Description
Launched in 2012 by by Thomas Vogel, Dave Mobley, and brewmaster Troy Smith, Belching Beaver Brewery evolved from a desire to make great beer and have a ‘Dam Good Time’ doing it. The award-winning craft beer company is focused on two things: First, have a brand that offers quality craft beer, while also being whimsical and fun to inspire good times. Each Belching Beaver beer release carries its own individual style and personality. Second, make beer for everyone and all palates. Our San Diego Brewery hosts 5 different locations serving craft beer you're going to love, of which the Oceanside Brewhouse is the production brewery.

Draft. A- Floral, fresh cut grass, rotten citrus. A- Gold color, cloudy liquid, no head. T- Overripe guava, passionfruit, dank, grassy, flower pollen. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, skunky finish. O- This was like a bowl of hot rotten guava. Just not a pleasant aroma or taste. Some will enjoy but not a fan.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is intense, with lots of maple syrup, bourbon barrels, vanilla, and chocolate fudge. Flavour is very sweet, with intense maple syrup, bourbon barrels, and chocolate fudge. Lots of bourbon and maple syrup, with excessive sweetness. It does get very cloying the more you drink, but the flavours are so nice that it's somewhat forgiven. Tasty.

Can from Corti Bros. Pours translucent gold with a monstrous foamy white head. Aroma is very tropical and fruity with a pine hint. Approaching full bodied (lots of carbonation). Fruity - seems passion fruit and citrus/pine. Prickly. Juicy, but not really sweet. Bitter enough for me! Pine coming out for that. Darn good.

16oz can. Poured a very dark brown, almost pitch-black color with a large, light tan head. Not a lot of Mexican spice heat, but delicious dark chocolate and a really decent peanut butter character. Rich, but not nearly as heavy as I expected. Doesn't taste like it's full of residual sugars like so many pastry-style beers.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver Black colour; it pours thick, viscous. Aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, light tobacco, traces of phenol; as it warms up, more vanilla and maple syrup. Sweet and syrupy, ultradense; liquid chocolate flavour, with raisins, brown sugar, dry plums; pleasant alcohol warmth, bourbon; incredibly rich, which is not the same as complex, but for sure it's a crowd pleaser (where the crowd is me).
