Sample at the brewpub. Hazy pale amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, malt and citrus. Light to medium body with a mildly bitter herbal hops character with caramel and fruit in the background. The finish is lightly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Nice rich light brown coloured body with a ruby tint and a nice one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, light nuts, a bit of earth and some english hops. Medium-bodied; Assertive hops up front with a good malt backbone, some lighter toffee and caramelised sugar notes and a hint of earth and nuts noticeable. Aftertaste shows more malt than hops, but a nice balance for sure, with a pleasant deep flavour. Overall, a good english pale with some american hops and a more decidedly balanced flavour with a good bit of sweetness at the end. I sampled this pint on draught at HoneyHole in Seattle, Washington on 09-February-2013 for US$4.50.

On tap at Brouwer's CafοΏ½ for Big Wood '12, pours black with a medium foamy tan head. Aroma of oatmeal upfront, very light whiskey barrels and some chocolate. Flavour is rich and moderately complex with the perfect addition of whiskey barrel notes, loads of oats, some chocolates and very low roast. The whiskey well-accentuated the base beer. Excellent stuff.

Pale blond color. Light aroma of malt, pleasant. Dry mouthfeel; simple malt flavor, but with a very light crispy touch, also light corn flavor. Correct bitterness.
In it’s category, not bad at all, but a bit simple overall.

Light amber color. The aroma is quite buttery. The body is lean, the mouthfeel quite dry; it has some light malt and caramel flavor, with an evident buttery presence; correct bitterness; the hop provides very light and hidden aromatic components.
Quite pleasant overall, but if you are put off by diacetyl, avoid this.

Dark brown color with some red hue. Aroma of roasted malts, burnt paper. Roasted malt flavor, not too aggressive, indeed the mouthfeel is rather soft; correct bitterness.
Balanced and drinkable, but monodimensional.
