Draft - Fruity, yeasty esters, grassy and some citrus notes. Cleanish gold with a decent rich white head. Tons of fruity esters and Belgian yeast. Sweet and fruity.

On tap at the Porterhouse, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma is on the dryer and hoppier side, with bready malt and dry hops. Flavour is along the same lines, but with some vegetal notes in there as well. Decent balance but the vegetal quality detracts a bit.

Dull amber, slight haze, massive piney, grapefruity hop nose. Taste has some sweeter notes, toasty and the hop character isn’t nearly as bright, more like dull and cheesy.

1st rater. Sampler at the brewpub, served with nitro. As expected, has a nitro head atop very brown body. Aroma is light chocolate, dirt, nonsugar caramel. Flavor has lightly charred cocoa and caramel. Super light body. Great light caramel and cocoa finish. Dry bitter malt finish.

Draught at King’s Hardware, Seattle
Dark color, almost black, with creamy head. Nice aroma, intense, with dominating coffee. Smooth mouthfeel, rather dry, with some roasted malt and chocolate flavor, sweeter in the final, with moderate bitterness.

On tap at redhook. $2 pour so off to a good start. Dark reddish, brown pour. Little aroma. Very nutty long lasting flavor. Has a sweet finish to it. Good beer overall.

On tap at Brouwer's Cafe, pours a hazy golden orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out loads of pine cones, a little wood, and some floral hops. Flavour brings out the same, with loads of pine and wood, with just enough caramel malt backbone to provide a lingering sweetness. Great stuff.

Bottle. Pours dark black with a small fizzy tan head that dissipates fairly quickly with some lacing. Aroma is chocolatey, roasty, some coffee. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, chocolate, some oakiness. Light body for the style, but still manages to be somewhat creamy. Lots of carbonation is distracting. A lot of good things going on in this one, but they don’t really come together.
