Fles gedeeld met LiekevdV. Het is een donker bruin bier ondoorzichtig bier met een bruin schuim. Het heeft een wat zure geur, houtachtig. De smaak is vol, dropachtig.

Bottle from sterk avondverkoop. Pours black with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is massive peat, chocolate, roast, booze. Flavor is sour, roast, fruits, peat, roast, malt. Finish is sour and peaty with some booze burn, but covers abv rather well. Overall: drinkable, but it shouldn’t be sour, infected barrels used I guess.

Light haze on this gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry and fairly minerally crisp. Dry floralness turning bitter. Little grapefruit hop, touch of lemon. Whisper of hop skunk. Dry airy finish. It goes down fine but is not getting me excited about much.

330ml bottle. Opaque, almost black colour with late awakening, thick and dense, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Predominant vanilla, oak, Bourbon aroma, underlying notes of dark malt, dried and dark fruit, notes of raisin, prune, Rumtopf, a touch of blueberry and chocolate, later more oaky and leathery. Taste is slightly roasty dark malty, minimally ashy, alcoholic, leathery, minimally fruity, hints of raisin; full body, oily texture, smooth and soft palate. Complex but not really intriguing.

Wedzony flanders na slodko, przedziwne, nawet smaczne o dziwo. Sporo ciemnych owocow, slodki, kwasnosc najbardziej w posmakach. Ciekawe
Ciemne owoce, ciut karmelu, nieco jakichs suszonych i kandyzowanych (malo), mocno wodnisty, duzo drewna, chyba poczatek infekcji, przypawy

Pours hazy dark brown to black with a lasting, foamy, dark beige head that leaves some lacing. Smells like roasted malt and hops. The aroma contains coffee, licorice, hops, roasted malt, wood, figs and raisin. It tastes medium caramel-like sweet at first, then medium hoppy bitter. The finish is roasted and light alcoholic, though the ABV remains well hidden. Medium body, oily/syrupy texture, soft carbonation. To me, this has a lot of qualities of an (Imperial) Stout, but that is another discussion. Basically, it’s a complex and well-balanced beer. Glorious!

Bottle, Batch #2. Color: Black, nutbrown head. Taste: Complex taste of dark red fruits, roasted malt, medium sweet and lightly sour hints but also some bitterness, some notes of alcohol, wood and of course of the whisky, mostly in the finish. Medium carbonation and body. Nice one.
