12 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 2/15/2019. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. A bit of muddy aromas/flavors. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.7%. Overall this is a nice hazy IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Not nearly as tropical, vibrant, or juicy as expected. Just feels like Simcoe, Amarillo, and classic C hops. Nicely vibrant, juicy, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice pale/wheat malt backbone, minimal residual sweetness from lingering resin dryness. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Smells like a S’more, as it should, with waves of chocolate and marshmallow wafting from the glass. As for the taste...yeah, fits its namesake, but it still doesn’t make for a very enjoyable pint. Chocolate, banana, and fruity Shiner esters lead to a marshmallow-and-cocoa-laden back end, with an unexpected floral bitterness leading to an increasingly sweet (and somewhat artificial) chocolate fade. Just...weird, gimmicky as it sounds. Pass

Quite hazy golden and peach coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of grass, light pine, some subdued citrus and grapefruity notes with a dash of lemon thrown in the mix. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and very herbal, perfumey hoppy flavours at first with a deep bitterness, some lighter grain and cardboardie malt notes with a dash of cereal and unfinished yeast notes throughout that leaves the finish bready. Aftertaste is soft and subtle with the grapefruit, lemony and resinous notes along with a dose of perfume and herbs towards the end. Overall, a pretty poor and un-IPA like beer that shows more of herbal and grassy notes and way less bitterness and actual hop flavours, which hits at most like an APA and doesnt show anywhere close to the bitterness or complexity that an IPA should taste like. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Harris Teeter in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 04-December-2018 for US$1,83 sampled in my hotel room here in Inner Harbour, Baltimore, Maryland on 11-December-2018.

From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear pale mahogany with a small off white head. Nutty aroma. Flavors are sweet caramel.

Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey/pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness of bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no fruity/yeasty notes present. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.5%. Overall this is a delicious Dortmunder. All around nice robustness of bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Very clean and nicely rich Pils/Munich malt showcase, with light noble hop presence/balance. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Cans sent by Shiner for review, after hoisting couches around. Quite foamy pour, over a golden yellow fizzy beer body. Smell is mild maltiness, just a slight edge of hoppiness. Pleasantly balanced session ale taste, with a rather surprising note of sweet orange up front. There is some nice texture, but it's not too filling. Meets the requirements of the Session Ale style, and today, that's what I needed.
