Description
Beavertown was founded in 2011 by Logan Plant, the son of Robert Plant, singer with Led Zeppelin. At first established as a brewpub in De Beauvoir Town, East London as part art of the Duke's Brew and Que experience. Expanding means moving! In 2012 to Hackney Wick and in 2014 to Tottenham Hale.
In June 2018, it was announced that Heineken would be buying a minority stake, so that Beavertown could spend £40 million on a new brewery and visitor site. The new brewery was launched in 2020, with a capacity of 500,000 hectolitres, a ten-fold increase in their previous capacity.
As of 7 September 2022 Heineken has taken complete control of Beavertown and now has 100 per cent ownership. Founder Logan Plant will stay on as an adviser.

Cleay pale yellow pour with a small white that does not last too long. Aromas of citrus, melon and malt. taste is grapefruit, more citrus, melon, herbs. It somewhat muted for an IPA, but quite nice for an AF

A complex black IPA with a nice American hop kick. The taste profile features fresh bitterness, with the Columbus, Chinook and Citra hops strongly present. Tropical fruit, roasted malt, a hint of liquorice and a solid medium body bolster the taste. Really good.

Very sweet but good overall. Nicely layered dark malts, mild roast, suggestions of bourbon, toffee, burnt sugar, booze not as strong as you might expect given the ABV. Lightly warming finish, some sticky sweetness, more rich and rounded dark malts, modest earthy bitterness. Good stuff.
