Description
Flying Dog Brewery is a craft brewery located in Frederick, Maryland. It was founded in 1990 as a brewpub in Aspen, Colarado by George Stranahan and Richard McIntyre. Demand for Flying Dog beers quickly grew beyond the brewpub's capacity. In 1994, the company opened a 30-barrel brewery (Broadway Brewing Company) in Denver. Looking to expand again in 2006, Flying Dog purchased Frederick Brewing Company in Frederick, Maryland and began producing beer in both Maryland and Colorado. In December 2007, Flying Dog announced that it was closing the Denver brewery and would solely produce beer in its Frederick facility.

Not bad for old school West Coast type IPA maker trying a hazy, but still mostly has a hazy vibe. Pours golden with a slight haze to it. Some grapefruit, pineapple. Bottle from mixed pack.

Caramel and piney hops. A hint of rust. Pours hazy amber with pretty good head retention. Bitter and slightly tangy, malty finish. Good for style. Some lemon. Bottle from mixed sixpack.

Pours clear amber with a mid sized head. Aroma is herbal hops and cookie dough. Flavour is herbal hops, fresh leafs, pine needles and Begian yeast. Pretty good! Perhaps a bit off balance.

20 oz. pour at BWI. Pours a hazy, orange color, with a big, frothy, off-white head. The nose is blood orange, spruce, coriander, whole grain bread, and grapefruit peel. Sweet and grainy, with a bold, piney bitterness. Medium to heavy body, sticky, and hard. Aggressive and tasty enough.

Says right on the bottle, "Vintage 2001 C." Had a 2002 already rated that I can convert to another batch. But meanwhile:
Deep brown pour, no foam. Smell has some raisin and plum, a little faded, but nothing has gone off. The taste, meanwhile, is also a bit faded. I'm typing through a bit of bitter aftertaste, but it started rather light. Still some maltiness and fruity ale notes, but the mouthfeel is comparatively light, and not boozy at all. I think the alcohol will creep up on me, but I'm hardly feeling that at all.
