Description
Flying Dog Brewery is a craft brewery located in Frederick, Maryland. It was founded in 1990 as a brewpub in Aspen, Colarado by George Stranahan and Richard McIntyre. Demand for Flying Dog beers quickly grew beyond the brewpub's capacity. In 1994, the company opened a 30-barrel brewery (Broadway Brewing Company) in Denver. Looking to expand again in 2006, Flying Dog purchased Frederick Brewing Company in Frederick, Maryland and began producing beer in both Maryland and Colorado. In December 2007, Flying Dog announced that it was closing the Denver brewery and would solely produce beer in its Frederick facility.

Says right on the bottle, "Vintage 2001 C." Had a 2002 already rated that I can convert to another batch. But meanwhile:
Deep brown pour, no foam. Smell has some raisin and plum, a little faded, but nothing has gone off. The taste, meanwhile, is also a bit faded. I'm typing through a bit of bitter aftertaste, but it started rather light. Still some maltiness and fruity ale notes, but the mouthfeel is comparatively light, and not boozy at all. I think the alcohol will creep up on me, but I'm hardly feeling that at all.

From ratebeer, it was a regular IPA, refreshing, my bottle had notes of burnt malt at the final, but it was ok, a bit resinous, during the year 2018, buying it at the casino supermarket, Evian, drinking it at Prélaz, Lausanne

On tap for a work event outside of DC.

Dark amber, nice froth.
Lemon, toast, orange dank nose.
Malt forward, black tea, orange, herbal bitter finish.

Meh. Tongue is done with IPAs for tonight.

From the casino, Evian-les-Bains, opening it on saturday after an afternoon at Bernaqua. Not really the best option during these Andalucian days in Switzerland. Even though, it a good one but heavy and I could say than one is enough for the night, boozy, 19.07.2022, at Epalinges.

From the casino, Evian-les-Bains. Serving us this bottle yesterday, so busy with the children and this one was welcomed. It is a great imperial ipa, well balanced and powerful, boosy, really smooth and malty, resinous, bitter and citrus, 14.12.22, at Epalinges.

Buying this bottle at Evian, casino supermarket. Opening this American beer, at home, on tuesday, at night, cool. An impression that it is the same kind of hop or hops, even though, it is a solid ipa, almost.an imperial ipa, dry malt, resinous, fruity, 27.08.22, tasting it at Epalinges.

I have found this bottle from the casino, Evian. Enjoying this bottle on monday at home, on the balcony, during the dinner, relax, a bit too boozy with this hot weather, sweet for an ipa but it is a Belgisn version, malty, sugar, decent touch of hop, 17.06.22, at Epalinges

Bottle. Weird spicy nose, maybe peach, probably agave. Completely clear with an initial head that fades to nuttin in a few seconds. No visible sign of carbonation, a completely quite brew. My, this is a weird tasting brew too. Yes some peach in there but that agave thing makes it quite different and not necessarily in a good way. Appears boozy on the palate, more than 5% fer sher. BTW, not sure about the mexican lager thing, no sign of any lager or mexy thing in this at all. I guess the agave is the key monitor for the mexico thing. Get it? Agave? Mexico? Oh well, it is what it is and that depends on what the meaning of is, is! There you have it. OK for a tick, but would not buy this bomb again. Meh.

Bottle pours opaque amber with thick tan foam rising above the top of the glass. Creamy mouthfeel with complex flavors… something like orange rind spiced with a peppery bitterness. Enjoyed this, very nice IPA.
