Had a pilsner at the Okanagan Fest of Ale. Don’t know if this one made a comeback or if it’s a new one. Golden with a thin head. Has a mellow breezy pale malt character with some chewy too sweet pale malts. Nothing really wrong with it but it does not fit my sense of balance.

Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver
Black color with beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and some chemicals, weird. The mouthfeel is rather thin, dry too; some roasted malt flavor, a bit of spicy buckwheat, and ordinary bitterness; ends with some paper and cardboard.
Maybe the bottle is oldish, but a beer should stand up better then this if spending a few months in a shop’s cooler. Not a bad beer, but I’m not impressed.

Cask at London Pub, Vancouver; 16oz
Cloudy dark amber color with small frothy head. The aroma is simple, some malt and hops, too light. The carbonation is low, but the temperature is fresh, it combined well with the lean but moderately sweet flavor, malt and caramel, quite rich, with a good bitterness level, hop resins, some bitter orange. No evidence of orange blossom.
Very good, mostly for the right mix of sweetness and orange bitterness.

Reddish amber. Frothy head. Has a fair bit of bitterness and orange and a touch of floral hoppiness before the alcohol kicks in too much.

Cask - Lots of sweet caramel with a touch of candy and hops. Cloudy copper with a rich beige head. Caramel, light earthy hops and a bit of vomit. Looks and smells good, falls down on taste.

Murky orange-blond color with small head. The aroma is delicate, fresh, fruity, with a light different touch, from the jalapeño. Soft mouthfeel, the carbonation is expectedly on the low side; moderate sweetness, enough fruits but not a specific pineapple presence, and light pepper flavor, also the pepper spiciness is very low; unfortunately it has too much yeast, creating some astringency, and that is not very pleasant.
I would chose a less yeasty beer, and try some more pineapple.

On cask at The Whip, pours a cloudy opaque yellowish orange with a small white head. Nose brings out a wonderful mix of jalapeno, dank citrus hops and a little pineapple. Flavour is also very well-balanced, with just the right amount of jalapeno and pineapple, finishing with citrusy resinous hops - maybe a touch of Belgian yeast in there too. A very nice version of the base beer. Very good.

650 ml bottle. Pours a mahogany color with light head. Aromas of caramel, fruit, and a bit of alcohol and soap. Flavors of fruity fresh resiny hops and doughy malts. Light bitter finish. Pretty simple. Easy to drink for the ABV.

650mL bottle, pours a dark amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out rum notes upfront, along bready caramel malt and a very low hop content. Flavour is pretty bland, with bready malts providing the backbone, with a smidgeon of rum and oak. Low complexity, but pleasant enough. Meh.

Poured from the tap. Cloudy yellow with slight orange hue and full white head. Very citrusy (lemon and orange), a little Belgian yeast and spice, mild resinous hops. Medium body, alcohol hidden.
