Description
In the early 1900's St. Petersburg was known as "the Green Bench City". At their height some 2,500 benches lined the downtown sidewalks inviting passers-by to slow their pace and make friends of strangers. In the same way Green Bench beer will serve as a catalyst for community and cheer. People will gather around a pint (or two) to share in both good times and bad, to discuss business or tell a joke, to reminisce about life or dream about the future, to get up and dance to the music or to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the brew.

The only date that I could find on the package was a sticker that said '7/16/24'. I'm assuming that is the 'Packaged on" date. There are no other dates on the packaging or cans.

AROMA: Moderate scents of malt, and bread, and then just at hint of grass and sweet caramel at the very end. At first the aromas were very muted, but after the head had completely dissipated, the aromas increased to a nice level.

APPEARANCE: Pours a clear straw-gold with a 5-fingers tall, off-white head whose froth has small, tightly-knit bubbles which dissipate slowly with excellent lacing. The head is probably the tallest I've ever seen. In fact, it's the only beer whose head overflowed my 23 oz. wheat beer glass that has a giant bowl at the top.

TASTE: Lightly bitter at the beginning, followed by light sourness, and ending with a touch more bitterness. Personally, I find the sour to interfere with my enjoyment of the beer. Fortunately, the sourness is not very strong, so I'm able to ignore it for the most part.

MOUTHFEEL: This is medium-bodied with above-average carbonation. The texture is crisp with a touch of coarseness. The finish is fairly dry. A little too dry for my tastes.

OVERALL: This beer is not your typical festival beer. Which I find to be a refreshing change of pace. Unfortunately, the sourness is something that I could do without. I'm also not a fan of very dry beers. For those reasons, I probably won't buy this again. On the other hand, I'm not upset that I bought a 6-pack as they are a nice change-of-pace from the typical festival beers that tend to be on the sweeter side.

bottle - amazing sour IPA - more like a farmhouse in taste and flavor. Lovely and complex

I got excited when I saw this, thought it was a new allagash due to more prominent label. Unfortunately it's much more of a new Green Bench. Light lemon, some coriander. Doesn't blend super well. Slightly hazy golden pour without much head. Pretty fizzy. Bottle.

Shaker pint draft at the Bridge Street Inn in Bradenton Beach, Florida. The pour is light golden yellow with a small white head. The aroma is clean cereal malt, a bit of soft floral. The taste is clean fresh cracker malt grain, a bit subdued with a hint of sweetness towards the back. The palate is light bodied, soft carbonation and a brief clean finish.

Can drunk 6/22/24. Clear, blonde-golden. Small, white head, moderate retention. Clean, crisp, lower malt character (crackery) with clean mineral water character and light, gently spicy and floral hopping. In the mouth it's lighter in body but not thin. Floral hopping, cracker and scant honey from malt. Very clean, refreshing.

Canned 5/21/24, drunk 6/22/24. Clear golden. Small, white head. Nose is a bit timid but nicely malty. Honey and cookie. Low hop. Clean. Lightly crisp. Love the malt, and the attenuation. Mineral and crispness a bit low but it's clean.
