Description
I started out brewing Belgian ales almost 24 years ago, at my Townhouse rd. location, and then moved to the present location at Hollywood Blvd. I branched out after a couple years and now make a variety of different ales and lagers, by far the best seller is the Pemaquid Ale, a Scottish style ale(5%abv)

Growler from the brewery. Pours clear orange with no head really. The aroma holds doughy bread, toffee, golden raisins. Medium sweet flavour with a little leafy bitterness, faint pear, dough, candi sugars. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes with lightly toasted sourdough, more candi sugar, Belgian yeast, toffee. So so overall.

Growler share with Doug.
My portion was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of off-white foamy head. Sustains for a little bit and dies off within a minute to leave some nice messy yet spider webbed lace.
The aroma had a great blend of cocoa and coffee beans to align with some vanilla bean, ash, dark fruits, mild earthiness and a mild cakey sweetness.
The flavor, once again, blends all of those previously mentioned aromas together sweetly with the roast and then some bitterness of coffee grounds roams in nicely. Super nice blended flow into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation feels good. Roastiness feels good on my tongue.
Overall, nicely done stout that I would love to have again.

650 ml bottle purchased at RSVP Discount Beverage. Hand bottling date reads 9/4/2015. Deep caramel color, thin lasting head around the chalice. Aroma shows caramel and substantial amount of herbal hops.

The flavor of shows sticky sweet caramel base with pine and overly herbal hints that linger in the finish. To sweet with a tad to much herbal bitterness. Also a mild sourness, maybe a touch of infection, just off. Not right.

Draft sample at Great Lost Bear. Darker brown in color with average carbonation showing standard head and lace. Aroma is earthy with mild chocolate and a touch of coffee nuances.

Flavor has a caramel / toffee / earthy malt base. The hops give a earthy and herbal profile that balances the sweetness. The body is average for the style and end on mild sweetness. Pretty nice brown ale but pretty much run of the mill. However, it is crafted really well and certainly easy to drink.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at Great Lost Bear. Consumed November 20, 2011.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown color. Bar pour yields no head.
The smell had the normal peaty/ malty sweets to it with a slight rustic/earthy edge to it.
The taste was basically the same.
On the palate, it sat about a light on the body. I was able to have a couple of these. The carbonation was really light.
Overall, is there such thing as a session Scottish ale? Because apparently, Sheepscot Valley Brewing Company just pulled it off. This actually went decently with my bacon cheeseburger.
