Bottle shared at Sander’s stag. Pours clear brown with a fizzy, off-white head. Toasted wheat in the nose, lightly tangy berries, raisin. Light sweet flavour with more tangy dark fruits, bread. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Finishes with more toasty wheat, ripe and tangy berries, faint toffee. Not bad:

Bottle shared in CT. pours clear copper with a subtle white foam head. The nose has simple toasty malts, caramel. Medium sweet flavor with toasty biscuits, cereal, dry caramel, faint leafy hops. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet, with further toasty cereal and caramel. Basic festbier. Fine.

Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear, orange-gold with a frothy off-white head. Bready pale malts in the nose, suggestions of butter, orange. Medium sweet flavor with biscuity malts, hints of butter, tangerine, bitter hay and grain husk. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with sweet bread, rindy orange, grain, pale bread. A little rough at the edges.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has well toasted wheat, ripe berries, slight esters, toffee. Medium sweet flavor with nice toasty bready wheat character, burnt toffee, rich ripe dark fruits, some blackberry. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet, a little sticky, with more dark fruits, berries, toffee. Quite tasty. Good take on the style.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds pale bread, citrus fruits, tangerine, orange. Light-medium sweet flavor with some pithy tangerine, more bready pale malts, touches of honey and cantaloupe. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes fairly sweet, slightly sticky, with nips of grassy bitterness and straw. Nice one.

Cask at the brewpub. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma holds some burnt toast, grain, slight cocoa. Light sweet flavor with a bit of cocoa, mellow roast, burnt toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet and toasty, with some earthy bitterness, dry and burnt toffee. Not bad.

A very wonderfully bright cask that must have been no more than 16-20 hours old with plentiful carbonation and head and a clear, copper color.
Leafy, dry, earthy hops give way to a touch of light citrus and a hint of fresh herbs. Dry, well-attenuated pale malts add structure without any honey, dough or that like, while light yeast esters and mineral water character sits on the finish.
Dry and watery, with plentiful leafy, fresh, spicy and floral hop character. I love the lack of any crystal malt or resinous hops here and the texture and carbonation are spot-on for a cask. Strange that a lot of their other beers were on the sweeter side yet this one was fully attenuated and nicely bitter without being overdone. Very drinkable, if perhaps a bit forgettable. Would order this again immediately if I were there again.

High clarity in this dark copper colored beer with a moderate amount of white head that is well-retained.
Sourdough, heavy honey and a touch of wort in the nose are lightly balanced by spicy, moderately floral hop notes that in turn give way to the sweet dough characteristics on the finish. No alcohol or flaws.
Very sweet initially. With some tolerance for maltiness in dortmunders (though moreso in a helles), this beer pushes it too far with an obvious underattenuation that is borderline wort-like. Grassy/grainy barley and vanilla flavors seem odd and certainly do nothing for the crispness or drinkability here. Hops add light spice and floral flavors but nowhere near balance the beer which has a sticky, rather heavy texture.

Very lightly hazy amber-peach body is topped by a small but very persistent white head.
Very straightforward "saison" yeast in the nose shows peachy esters, light pepper, bubble gum and light banana. Low hop aromatics only show off a light spiciness with no alcohol or flaws but plentiful maltiness giving it an almost candied aroma of sticky honey and confit oranges.
Estery and at least Belgian in flavor, it nonetheless is very heavily fruity, with oranges, peaches and pineapples giving way to light bubble gum and candied orange rind on the finish. That’s all fine and the yeast character is what it is, but the beer is just too sweet overall. Moderate dough, heavy honey and light caramel all keep it on the low-end of refreshing. Not every saison needs to measure up to Dupont (or does it?) but this just needs more dryness all around.

Notched on the side, this one reads \"June.\" I was told that’s a best by date.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Light messy lacing roamed around the glass.
The smell had a superb blend of rich nutty malts with a light roasty smooth chocolate and ample coffee roaming in and out.
The taste copied the aroma nicely to work over a gentle sweet rolling and roasty smooth, slightly smokey and light amount of cocoa. A lingering roasty smooth coffee/cocoa aftertaste leads to a balanced dry to wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a really nice sessionability to it. The carbonation rolled over nicely with a delicate sharpness.
Overall, this was a really nice English Brown ale, definitely again.
