Bottle. Beer of the month club. Cloudy orange color with a nice big creamy white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, a bit of bubblegum and some clove notes. Sweetish fruity flavor with wheat, light grainy notes, and a finish with light bitterness-sourness. Medium-bodied. A decent refreshing Weizen.

Well, glad this is from Penn Brewery and not melanie, as I was suspecting. On the side there is an advertisment for 7 - springs. Decent lookin lager in the glass and it has some precipitents in there if you look closely. Smell is simply crisp & clean. Initially it comes across a little more than smooth, you know, some personality that makes it more like a premium lager. Not bas as the session continues. Finish is rather gentleman like. Good lager from the lcoal brewery.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt, some caramel, some acidity and fruits (lots of apple). Sweetish-sourish yeasty flavor with some malt and sour fruits. Finishes with more sourness. Rather light-bodied. I think something went wrong here, but it’s still drinkable.

A murky and fetid looking diluted Nestle quick chocolate milk with a very thin white head. In aroma, sweet terpentine with cloves and bananasm not bad. In mouth, a smooth sweet banana bread with cloves, lightly oily mouthfeel, a bit thin but nice. On tap at PA Flavor, April 9th, 2011.

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice sweet caramel malt. Flavor is the same, lots of heavy malt with some breadyness toward the end. It’s a marzan which not one of my favorite styles but this one has plenty of flavor.

slag aroma. darker than a pale lager. seems like 6% on the taste buds. lemon peel and rind grows. seems a bit processed, but in a good way, heheh. could be an american pale ale as it appears on the label. chinook, columbus and perles I think I taste. Impressive personality that borders on ale rudeness but never quite gets there. Fun local beer!

Batch 002 Received from Secret Santa this year and last, thanks for the opportunity KarrHeel03 and DavoleBomb. Pours a deep brown with great garnet highlights and a smallish creamy off white head that recedes much to quickly. Smells of malt, yeah I know right a bock that’s malty go figure. Sweet toffee and caramelized sugars mixed with some sweet plums, and hints of cocoa. Taste is sweet with dark fruits, melanoidin, cocoa, and toffee. The taste is wonderful in its malty sweetness without being cloying. No hop presence detected. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, light to medium level of carbonation, sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. I enjoyed the hell out of this while watching the Steelers get it handed to them in the Superbowl. Very nice bock.

Sampled on draft at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium this beer poured a dark caramel amber with a large creamy yellow-white head that lingered and produced great lacing. The aroma was somewhat faint but bitter with a dry floral hop presence. The flavor was dry and bitter with moderate floral and perfumey hops and notes of caramel and nut. There was a faint wood and bready undertone. The finish was long, dry, bitter and hoppy. Medium body but fairly smooth. Decent.

Bottle first batch thanks to JohnGalt1. Pours out a dark amber topped with a nice sand head. Aroma was of sweet malts, light chocolate, and a little nuttiness. Taste was more of the rich malts, brown sugar sweetness and some pit fruit.

Bottle. A fine beer. Pours a very light yellow with a modest white head that subsides quickly. Grassy aroma, with light malts and some earthy hops. Flavor is delicate and on key. Some malty sweetness, followed by a dry and bitter finish. Quite nice.
