Sample at the brewpub the day before St. Patrick’s Day. This beer is a clear orange-amber color with a medium thin and foamy off-white head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel and hops. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, hops, sweet caramel and touches of sweet fruit. The finish is caramel malt up at first, with a lightly hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On draught at the brewpub. Pours black with a medium thick and creamy brown head that dissipates slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and a bit of rye. Medium, smooth body with flavors of caramel malt, fruity hops and rye. Notes of coffee as well. The finish is roasty with a hops and coffee aftertaste. A unique Oatmeal Stout that has a solid hops presence, and it works. Pretty good all around.
