Nara Brewing Futura German Ale 5.5% 10 IBU Beautiful ruddy amber brown color with a caramel biscuit aromas the taste has caramel, peppery biscuit and graham malt character. Very crisp and clean.

Nara Brewing x Any Coffee Cosmic Latte Nitro Hazy Brown Ale w/Coffee 5% 10 IBU Mahogany brown with a beautiful creamy beige head and crazy smooth velvety nitro full body. Great latte coffee flavor, milk sugar and coffee. The nitro is the star here and elevates the brew to be closer to a great coffee drink than a beer but ina good way.

Nara Sphere 6% 30 IBU Slightly opaque gold with a thin dense bright white topping of foam. It’s got a bright vibrant hoppy aroma and very mild funk. It reminds me of the old version of Ichigo Ichiro but with a brighter citrusy hop character and much less Belgian saison type funk. About 750¥ from Kyoto Isetan.

Finishing my night at my favorite bar in Kyoto. Nara Philharmony 4.5% 15 IBU Belgian Wit with Tachibana Nice mellow brass color with a spicy Tachibana coriander aroma. Full bodied with a scratchy carbonic finish. Overall smooth and easy drinking with the lemongrass clearly coming through. I’d prefer a smoother body but very nice. For those looking to try it, I believe it’s also on tap at Dig the Line.

Tap at Komachi. Bright gold, crystal clear. Nose is cedar, honey malts, lemon. Flavor is quite kolsch-like but with cedar. Nice at first but the cedar got to be too much quite quickly and a pint was hard to finish. Interesting idea but I would dial back the cedar to about half.

Nara x Lostage x Craftrock Brewing Neverland 5%. 21 IBU Kolsch with Cedar Lovely matte gold with a bready malt and herbal peppery spice hop bouquet. Quite full bodied and dry with the cedar coming through clearly in the finish. Really great stuff.
