From a 375ml bottle on 11/6/2018. Pours the deepest brown with pretty much no head. The nose is chocolatey with a lots of mint. Tastes like a liquid Mint Slice biscuit - lots of chocolate and mint cream, with just a touch of roast at the back. Fullish body with softish carbonation. Balanced, long and oh so moreish. Holy crap, this is a lovely stuff.

From a 500ml can on 3/6/2018 (shared by Butz with thanks, ABV listed as 9.4% not 8.6%). Pours near black with not much of a head. The nose is light chocolate with some fridge and basement aroma. The flavour features dark chocolate, soy, and lots of roasted malt, but it's a bit chemical, and lacking in balancing sweetness. The texture is surprisingly thin and the carbonation moderate. A pretty big disappointment, given I've been quite impressed by other Six String efforts to date. .

From a 375ml can on 12/3/2018. Pours a clearish medium golden with a small head. The nose features some dank fruit with some mineral notes. Flavour wise, there's a decent dash of stone fruit sweetness which is bludgeoned by a pretty abrupt, sharp and somewhat salty bitterness. Presents bigger than 50 IBU. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The blurb suggests they were aiming for an easy drinking full strength IPA. They've failed in that regard, as this is actually quite hard going, and perhaps a touch harsh. To be honest, I've found plenty of 10 per centers more smashable than this. I've been mightily impressed by Six String to date, and this is their first mis-step for mine.

From a 375ml can on 21/2/2018. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with barely any head. Smells of light fruity hops. In the mouth, it begins with a good dash of citrus, tropical and stone fruit sweetness, against light bread and biscuit. It's definitely big and hoppy for a standard IPA - lots of pine and resin, with a hint of lemon and grapefruit. Medium bodied and prickly carbonation. Very flavoursome and really well balanced. I'm liking this brewery.

Tap at the Uitgang Bar, Melbourne. Poured a clear straw colour with a frothy white head, clingy lace and lots of bubbles. The aroma is yeast grassy hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light watery grainy malt, citrus fruit, dry hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

What a great beer - a genuinely different IPA with its POG juice included. The aroma has loads of passionfruit, orange, grapefruit and honey. The orange and grapefruit are prominent in the mouth, then there's a slightly off-putting aftertaste of aspirin that's the only drawback. Can from Melba's.

500ml can sampled on Aussie trip 2017-18. Pours clear copper amber with a small white head. Aromas of bread, caramel malts. Taste is light sweet, biscuit & caramel malts, light floral, some spicy notes. Light to medium body, very light carb. Light dry vaguely bitter finish. Not bad

375ml can into shaker. Cloudy amber beer with two finger frothy white head. Medium carbonation. Nose is lightly fruity with a touch of malt. Light body, hints of fruit. Finish is mildly bitter. Insubstantial quaffer, slammable on hot summer afternoons.

Can. Amber with an inch of off white head. Aroma is biscuity with floral and some lemon notes. A hint of cardboard. Rather light bodied, moderate carbonation. 3- Lacks richness but there's biscuit, floral and spicy notes. Dryish at the end. Some berries - that whilst not unpleasant really don't belong - along with modest bitterness. Just OKish.

Can. Brown with a large beige head. Aroma of grape juice, oranges, chocolate brioche, prunes, pine-scented candles. Weird. Sweet with stewed fruit, toffee and buttery brioche, resinous bitterness creeps up. Butter or vanilla? - I kept changing my mind. Surprisingly light textured but the booze and bitterness are wearing after a while. All over the shop.
