Can. Clear orange with a dense white head that laces well. Aroma of light dough, oranges, vanilla, cloves. Smells very standard Belgian Blonde, but it turns out to taste rather less sweet and first and a fair bit more bitter at the end. Has a lot more presence than 5.5% would suggests.

Can. Almost black with a beige head. 3+ Roasty aroma with tropical, citrus and some earthy notes. Lightish bodied. Really quite dry with roasty and slightly ashy notes underneath quite zesty and tropical bitterness. Clever, tasty.

Tap at the Boilermaker House, Melbourne. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, grassy hop. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a crisp smoky malt, caramel, grassy, fruit hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Stout or Black IPA? More of a Black IPA for me... but the brewer intent is a hoppy stout.

375ml can. Pours straw. Juniper, orange, spice, long herbal bitter finish. This is really very good, and (obviously) very unusual too. Adding a shot of gin, as per the can, is strongly recommended.

On tap at Basement Brewhouse Bankstown. Woody, peppery, spicy, aniseed nose. Pale amber beer with thin film of suds on top. Flat mouthfeel, salty umami notes. Finish is increasing saltiness. Really nice, refreshing.
