Description
Brocklebank Craft Brewing is a one-and-a-half barrel nanobrewery in Tunbridge. We opened in 2015. We brew all kinds of beers, including IPAs, pilsners, stouts, and fruit beers, and distribute to a dozen bars and restaurants in central Vermont.

Brocklebank is owned by Ben and Anne Linehan. Ben is a master plumber who also owns Brocklebank Craft Plumbing. He started brewing in 2009 and his beers have won ribbons at a number of competitions. Anne organizes the annual Vermont Nanobrewery Festival in August at the Tunbridge Fairgrounds. NanoFest is a celebration of Vermont’s smallest breweries.

Poured into a pilsener glass, the appearance was a ruddy pale yellow color with a good two finger white foamy head that died off at a nice pace leaving some sly speckled lace.
The aroma had some sweet biscuit to grassy hopped goodness. Some light floral qualities slide in underneath.
The flavor yields to the sweetness, somewhat biscuity to bready with the bittering grassy hops strolling in for a nice balance. Some clean cereal tones play nicely and end up assisting in the aftertaste. Quick grassy sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. Good smoothness along my tongue.
Overall, nice German pilsener that I look forward to having again preferably in the Summer or even with it’s respected food.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a ruddy orange to brown color with a thin finger’s worth of quickly dissipating head. Sly lace quickly moves into the beer.
The aroma had some toast, herbal to earthy tones, some banana, light red delicious apple, some grassy and then floral qualities. Crisp Autumn leafy dryness.
The flavor blended the prior mentioned aromas to a dry sweet souped up woody to that Autumn leafiness. Herbal and earthiness comes back to play with some light bitter grassy hops. Sly hay to earthy semi-sweet aftertaste leading into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Dry sweet leathery grip on my tongue.
Overall, interesting but good saison that I wouldn’t mind coming back to.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a ruddy brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated evenly. Rings of lace stick to the sides of the glass.
The aroma has a wonderful blend of crisp nutty malts coinciding with some caramel and toffee malts. Low key herbal hops play underneath.
The flavor takes the previously mentioned aromas to blend nicely. Leans to the sweet side with a nice malty aftertaste leading into the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Crisp nutty sweetness gliding over my tongue. ABV seemed appropriate.
Overall, good brown ale that I would have again.

Growler share.
My portion was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt yellow to orange color with a quickly dissipating finger’s worth of foamy white head. Sly semi-sticky lace quickly runs into the beer.
The aroma had some raw citrus peel, semi-sweet lightened by a bitter edge. Bitter pine compliments the backbone.
The flavor blends the pine to the citrus and allows a nice malt base to play the bitterness, still doesn’t seem overbearing. Semi-sticky sweet to bone dry aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionably crisp smooth feel on my tongue. Good carbonation.
Overall, pretty good APA that I could have again.

Thanks Doug. Growler share.
Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a rustic hazy orange color. Thin white head tapers off pretty quick. No lace.
The aroma had some citrus, resin and floral hops up front. Decent malt level.
The flavor tries to balance the hops to the malts but brings forth the malts somewhat in a soapy sort of way. Crisp balanced citrus/piney aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Pretty good EIPA bitterness.
Overall, pretty good English styled IPA that I could have again.

Thanks Doug.
Growler share.
Mine was poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a rustic dark pink to ruddy brown color with a ring of white foamy lace.
The aroma starts off with some sweet and tart raspberry flowing over some lemon sweet to bitter pulpiness. Sly grassiness.
The flavor yields to the blend of the tart to sweet side and as it warms subtle bitterness develops. Tart raspberry aftertaste with a quick wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation, mainly feels good. Grasping bite from the tartness hitting my tongue like it’s real raspberry in it.
Overall, nicely done raspberry pale ale that I would have again.

Sampled at the brewery, pours a lightly hazy orange with some lacing, white head. Cool nose, light yeast esters and some light fruit sweetness then the hops kick in, lightly dank, lightly pissy, soap, resin. Flavor is very well balanced, grassy, zesty and resinous balanced with just a little honey/malt sweetness. Crisp finish. Easy drinker.
