Can shared in London - big thanks to drsandman. Pours hazy gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds ripe citrus, orange, cheese, pine, rich bread. Medium sweet flavour with more bready malts, faint caramel, jammy citrus, bitter pine. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Resinous and sticky in the finish, with more ripe citrus, pale bread, mellow bitterness. So so overall. A little heavy handed.

Can care of LKS. It pours hazy amber with a hint of brown and small white head. The aroma is fresh, lemongrass, verbena, menthol, cheddar, toasty grain, brioche and candied peel. The taste is slick, oily, chewy, brioche, candle peel, tangerine, spicy, grass, oily, lemongrass and lychee with a drying finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Cheddar and mint. Odd.

Can split at Hackney Levels, thanks to LKS, 31/05/17. Lightly hazed orange with a moderate off white swirl. Nose is sweet, caramel malts, peach, strawberries and cream, toasted bread, light citric peel. Taste comprises sweet malts, apricot, light booze, hop burst, faint pine, mango. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with mellow hop bitterness. Middle of the road DIPA.

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of rum barrel, licorice, vanilla, alcohol warmth, woody notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light coffee notes, light rum barrel notes, woody notes, loads of alcohol warmth, pleasant and warming. On tap at brewpub.

A dark brown stout with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, light vanilla, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light vanilla notes, light grassy hops, pleasant. On tap at brewpub.

A milky yellow DIPA with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, fruity biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light sulfur, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with orange pulp, light tropical fruits, resinous floral hops, alcohol warmth, pleasant. On tap at brewpub.

A lightly hazed golden ipa with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with loads of citrusy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, lighter bodied than expected but still solid. On tap at brewpub.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a rugged semi-dark red color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that glistened around the glass and then slid into the beer. Sly stringy lace.
The aroma started off with a decent blend of danky onion hops and caramel/toffee malts. Opens on up into a woody to nutty blend. Habaneros seem fairly delicate.
The flavor leans malty initially and then the sweet dryness of the wood and nuts comes in coupled by the habaneros on the back end. Subtle crisp semi-sweet to spicy sort of aftertaste flowing on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sipping quality about it. Spiciness of the habaneros seems to cause a little bit of kick in this department. ABV felt right as intended by the brewer.
Overall, weird for a red ale. I figured they were just trying to do something different to \"spice\" up a style that seems to be losing interest in this day and age. I applaud the attempt, but those of you looking for a big spicy kick, you won’t get that in this one.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Gentle dissipation. Sly stringy lace.
The aroma had some dark malts, nice roast to them. Then piney bitter/resinous hops. Some citrusy hops underneath.
The flavor takes the previously mentioned aromas to blend nicely. Crisp bitterness of the piney and citrusy hops flow on over into the aftertaste and glide into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body perhaps leaning towards the medium side with a decent grip from the hops to allow a good harshness on my tongue. ABV felt like the brewer intended it to be.
Overall, pretty good spot on black IPA that I could have again.
