Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a mostly dark brown color close to black. Some strings of lace gloss the sides of the glass after a little white cap of a foamy head died off within seconds.
The aroma took on dark and roasty malts bold and up front with a sweet to bitter citrusy balanced piney upbringing.
The flavor crisply leaned towards roast and bitterness subtly bringing in the citrus in slyly underneath. Sweetness is exceptionally low in this one. Well blended citrus/piney to roasty and bitter aftertaste punching the finish nicely.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fair sipping quality about it. ABV felt good for what was projected, no alcohol burn. Roastiness is quaint along my tongue.
Overall, very nicely done imperialized black IPA that I wouldn’t mind having again.

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a sly finger’s worth of off white foamy head. Nice pace how it dissipated. Subtle stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasty dried coffee beans over top of spicy earthy hops and then the piney portion opens it up a tad more. Roasty cocoa powder.
The flavor touches the roasty coffee beans to the cocoa powder gently and adds a little bit of char nuanced by the earthiness. Quick roasty aftertaste. Sly dry char finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Piney hoppy harshness creates enough appropriate bitterness.
Overall, nice black IPA that I would have again.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a semi-dark red color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly lacing here and there.
The aroma starts off with a sweet blend of rye spice to toffee and caramel malts. Subtle grassy hops for bittering. Light citrusy hops as well.
The flavor was basically the same with a well blended sweet to spicy aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice between feel of sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation seems to hit just right.
Overall, this one was a pretty good American styled strong ale. ABV seemed to be masked quite well.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of off white foamy head. Mild stringy lacing after the head dissipates.
The aroma starts off with bacon bits, somewhat smoky and then sweet maple syrup, and then brings in a sly roastiness as it warms.
The flavor yields to the sweet side with the maple syrup coming forth a bit further than the bacon and the smoke. The aftertaste is quick and has some remnants of the bacon with the maple syrup.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation feels fine, right on par.
Overall, I like the idea but it seems to lose the bacon and maple syrup aromas as it warms.

The flavor leans roasty with the sweet edge coming in for a nice balance. Sly sweet aftertaste with a touch of roast also coming in to balance in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Low carbonation yields a nice roasty to bitter rolling feel on my tongue.

The aroma starts off with some hay, grassy hops, mild sweet malts (somewhat corn to toast, slightly bready to biscuity).
The flavor copies the aroma mostly. Mostly bready sweet aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation rides nice and low.
Overall, interesting take on a Bitter, definitely crushable if anything. I might be able to come back to this.

The appearance was a ruddy semi-burnt amber color with a slim white foamy head. Subtle lace.
The aroma starts with some sweet caramel malts. Gets some toffee in there. And then some stonefruit. Sly grassiness.
The flavor brings in those aromas sweetly with a little bit of grassy hop punch in the backbone. Sly grassy bitter to malty aftertaste. Quick finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel to it. Decent carbonation. Malts want to smooth it out and do a decent job.
Overall, good amber ale that I could have again.
