Sample in a flight at the Unknown Brewery. Black, with a thin, tan head. Nose is resinous and earthy hops up front, with a bit of chocolate. Very bitter, but with a pretty good maltiness. Heavy body, sharp, sticky, and pretty astringent. This is a fairly nice black IPA. A little too hard, but not bad.

I thought this was an okay Black IPA, but it wasn't a favorite of mine. Decent though. I mean as far as the style goes, I still think it could be better, but I it isn't bad.

On tap at the brewery, in a flight. Pours black, with a thin, tan head. The aroma is coffee, chocolate, molasses, and a little cinnamon. Sweet, with a mellow, unexpectedly pleasant, roasted character. Medium to heavy body, sticky, and powdery. Overall, this is a pretty solid stout, with a good malty mouthfeel, and a nice, easy flavor.
