Bottle: Poured a deep golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet Belgian malt notes with light warming alcohol is OK at best. Taste is also dominated by Belgian malt with quite a bit of residual sugar notes, some warming alcohol and light peppery yeast notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. I thought this beer was a little bit off balance with alcohol coming through a bit too much.

Bottle: Poured a light orange color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some light lacing notes. Aroma of citrus hops notes with dry malt base. Taste is also dominated by citrus hops notes with light bitter notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Old school IPA with maybe a little shortage on the hops flavours side of things.

Bomber from Safeway in Honolulu. Nose is bitter coffee and very light coconut, not nearly as apatizing as the Maui CoCoNut and Waikiki Black Strap Molasses Porter I had yesterday. Very dark brown with a big tan head. Flavor is coffee with some coconut and a hint of chocolate.

Thanks to TimE for sharing the bottle at the tasting! Poured into a taster showing a finger of latte colored foam and coffee brown all around. The nose shows a lot of light and easy coffee brightened significantly by the coconut. Probably closer to a latte. The palate is extremely carbonated with hints of coffee, a lot of coffee tartness and a mid palate of coconut shavings. The carbonation is just too overwhelming on this beer to be enjoyed.

Bottle. Tangerine malt and pine/grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet tangy tangerine/coconut malt and moderately strong bitter pine/grapefruit peel flavor. Nice balance. Very nice.

Pours nicely dark, bit of foam. Aroma is smoky, leathery, some acidity, not much of it though. Taste is quite spritzy, high carbonation. Some cocoa, chocolate, bit of sourness. Quite highly carbonated, makes it feel very light. Aftertaste pretty short. Easygoing porter, I guess it’s complexity falls prey to high carbonation.

Dakr brown color. Some toasted coconuts with coffee and a bit of roasted malt but not too chocolately. It’s a bit too much carbonation. A bit sweet chocolately finish.

Bottle split at Mother Arch, picked up from a supermarket in HI, 03/01/15. Light black with a decent tan covering that retains well. Nose is dark malt, lactic tang, nice toasted coconut strokes, cocoa rub, toffee, nutty. Taste comprises more lactic soured fuit notes, Bounty Bar, dark fruit rinds, toffee, chocolate, light charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. The other two beers I picked up from this brewer were pleasant surprises in terms of quality, this one was just OK, a touch too much lactic/fruit tarteness - perhaps a mild infection?
