Bottle: pours clear orange with a white head. Aroma is yeast, bubblegum and spice. Taste is sweet, booze is well covered, honey. Not bad.

Bottle, thanks Tim. Aroma is cat pee, sharp citrus. Taste is more malty, bit of caramel sweetness, but with bitterness at the end.

Bottle, thanks Tim E. Nice, fruity, orange and tropical. Nice. Good stuff. Near the end of the tasting so notes are limited.

Bottle. Thanks Tim. Aroma is roasty, soy sauce, a bit tart. Fruity. Taste is good, chocolatey, roast, only coconut hint, cola, high carb. Interesting.

Super deep and incredibly hazy ruby, deep earthy brown and glowing amber coloured body with a super hazy glow alongside a thick and luscious, long-lasting three to five centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat for quite a long time. Aroma of alcohol, chocolate, nuts, specialty grains (rye?), grain, resin and a heavy dose of bitterness coupled with caster sugar and some light fructose. Medium to Full-bodied; Super rich and intensely powerful chocolate and grainy flavours that definitely favour that side of the palate with no real complexity or coverage from the other styles - this is intensely alcoholic and very bitter throughout with no real changing the 'feel' from a review or two. Aftertaste relatively clean, but the bitterness from the alcohol, malt, resin, metal and pungent hops are quite strong throughout. Overall, an enjoyable beer, and despite the pain to carry this back home and wait a full year to crack this open - well worth the effort. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Kahalui, Maui, Hawai'i on 03-January-2016 for US$9,99, sampled at home, having the island of Hawai`i been the last island I visited, sampling this beer at home in Washington on 05-April-2019.

Super dark brown coloured body with a nice very thin, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of yeast, light grain, a touch of honey, a good deal of nuts and earth with very little else in the nose - very mild. Medium to Full-bodied; Super strong malty bite at first that shows some light chocolate, a touch of nuts, earth, some stone fruits, a light dose of caramelised sugars and a bit of raisins, all with the pervasive yeast showing at the end. Aftertaste shows a bit of the chocolate, some light grain and earthy flavours, all with a lot of the pervasive stone fruit and sweetness showing on top of a layer of strong yeast and alcohol, all with a soft nuttiness and light grainy quality on the very end. Overall, a nice beer with a good yeast profile, and while a touch heavy on the malt side of things, a good option for a Belgian here on the island of Hawai'i. I sampled this ten ounce pour on draught at Humpy's Big Island Ale House in Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i (island) on 03-January-2019, a few hours before leaving the islands.
