Description
Lanikai Brewing Company is an Island Inspired®, authentic Hawaiian craft beer company making 100% of our brews here in Hawaii. We take our cues from premium, local, rare, and exotic ingredients grown by local farmers or foraged across the Pacific to bring you innovative, bold and flavorful beers that you will find nowhere else often utilizing Hawaiian terroir utilizing local native yeast and bacteria. Pour a nice solid head to breathe in the flowers and fruits, the same aromas carried by our gentle trade winds. It’s paradise in a bomber bottle, best shared with friends on the beach.

In addition to our Tap and Barrel tasting room in beautiful Kailua, Hawaii, Lanikai Brewing company beers can be found throughout the Hawaiian Islands including Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Big Island and are coming soon to the Pacific Northwest, Australia and Japan in early 2019.

We currently have more Tap and Barrel tasting room locations in planning as well as our Distillery all planned to launch in 2019

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan and light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, earth, caramel and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied; Candy sweet chocolate and caramel hit first with a good deal of grain, roasted malt, oatmeal and vanilla right behind. Aftertaste shows a lot of roasted malt bitterness with some subdued grain and alcohol along with a bit of chocolate and coffee and a touch of alcohol as well. Overall, a nice porter with some rich flavours and a deep bitterness that you don’t find in most local beers. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from KTA Super Store in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Island, Hawaii on 09-August-2016 for US$7,99 sampled in my hotel/condo on 12-August-2016.

Rich pink and peach coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of flowers (hibiscus, of course) with some honey, coriander seed, grass, hay, wheat and some light sugars from fruit. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong rich honey and fruity flavours, but a touch overshadowed by the flowers of hibiscus and a good deal of grain and wheat, very nice and herbal. Aftertaste shows a lot of floral notes, some sweetness from fruits, but more from the honey along with some grain and coriander seed freshness that’s a bit clean at the end. Overall, a very nice and fresh beer with some good herbal flavours and a rich finish of honey and dryness. Great to sample, but not really a saison by any means, still a nice beer that’s different here on the islands! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased a few minutes earlier at KTA Super Store in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Island, Hawaii on 09-August-2016 a few minutes after arriving from the mainland for US$7,99.

Black pour. Vanilla, roasted Malta, slight burnt coffee, some chocolate. The vanilla really comes on as it warms. Medium to full body. Rather smooth. If you like vanilla this is right up your alley.

Deep copper. A light spice note throughout. Seems a little underdeveloped. Overly sweet malt profile. Needs some work.

Clear copper. Sweet citrus and rustic notes. Strong bitter finish. Some resin. A solid DIPA but a bit too bitter for its flavor.
