Draft at Taproot 2nd Annual Beer & Mead Social: Poured a golden color with a white head. Aroma was overwhelming vanilla. Taste was vanilla extract and grain.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a one centimetre tall tan head and a nice hazy glow to the body. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, a touch of sugars and that’s about it - fairly simplistic. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive nutty flavour with some earthy malt and a hint of caramelised sugars and that’s about it - fairly one-dimensional, but some other tastes come out at the end. Aftertaste shows a bit of a mustiness, some earthy notes, a little sugar and mostly malt flavours. Overall, not such a horrible beer, but definitely not great. That said, it was still nice to sample and drink on my own time! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from La Bodega in Anchorage, Alaska on 23-June-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 26-March-2012.
