Rochdale Beer Festival 2015. Dark, dirty amber in colour. Has a sweetness in its nose, fused with some darker malts which are also evident in its taste, but not a very stated ale.

50cl bottle from the Cartmel village shop. Appearance - dark brown to black with a generous head. Nose - big red fruits note, then some ginger biscuit. Cake mixture too. Taste - more intermingled red fruit, biscuit and spice. Some caramel lurking in the background. Palate - close to medium bodied, the mouthfeel has a good thick texture and there’s a balanced finish. Overall - yeah, really enjoyable.

Palate - medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a dry malty finish. Overall - nicely balanced bitter with enough elements to keep it interesting.

Bottle from the Cartmel village shop. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - lots of sweet malt and citrus. Taste - lemon and again sweet malt. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and quite a pleasant finish but should be drier really. Overall - decent body but needs to refresh more.
