Deep and very hazy amber and light brown coloured body with a larger, three to four centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of light cream, some subdued malts with nuts and toffee and a dose of grain and a touch of sugars. Medium-bodied; Assertive toffee and light grain with a touch of caramel, nuts, earth and a lightly toasted flavour with some grain and light spice flavours, but quite bitter and pungent - but more from the malt and alcohol than from anything else. Aftertaste shows more of the malt and creamy, lactose notes than spices, grain or yeasts, but the bitterness is strong with a dose of light toffee and nuts and a bit of sweetness is all around the fringes. Overall, an interesting and flavourful beer, but just not really in terms and context of the style - this is a bit too mild and subdued given that there is a lot of malt, bitterness and grain, but not much of a complexity - this is fairly mundane and easy-drinking. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Costco in Fairfax, Virginia on 16-October-2017 (my oldest daughter's fifth birthday) for US$29,99/case by my hockey teammate, sampled at home in Washington on 11-June-2018 - Thanks James!

Nothing is wrong with this ipa at all. It is very bitter and though, but clean and a pretty standard ipa.

Clear golden and light copper coloured body with a decent, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of cardboard, grass and a light funk noticeable throughout. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and funky cardboardie malt with a lot of assertive bitterness noticeable here without any definitive hop qualities and just pungent, if not stale malt. Aftertaste shows the pungent hops, a lot of bitterness from the malt, some light sugars and a bit of funky medicinal and assertive qualities throughout, but not like a typical APA. Overall, easily the weakest of the four beers from the pack, and while this wasn’t good, the other three were, despite the lower ratings here - they were better than I expected them to be, especially at the price range! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 03-May-2017 for US$19,99 for a full case/24 pack of 4 mixed six packs, sampled at home in Washington on 19-June-2017, right in front of said Costco.

Crisp clear golden coloured body with a smallish, two centimetre tall off-white, rather soapy head. Aroma of grassy and more herbal hops than anything else, but also a mild note of sugars and some very light malt as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Very mellow grassy and herbal hop notes at first with a super low-key malt body that shows some more grassy and a touch of an earthy bite. Aftertaste goes down easily, doesn’t show much malt and does show some nicely refined grassy and more resinous hops. Overall, a pretty decent Light IPA that shows good elements and hits the core bits of the style - light malt, flavourful hops, some moderate complexity and light enough in alcohol to drink several of in an evening. If people get over the label of this bottle and instead poured this into a bottle from Stone or Wicked Weed, then the ratings would be much higher. This is a solid Light IPA that is well worth the cheap price, and less than US$1,00 per bottle! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle from the case sampler, purchased from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 03-May-2017 for US$20,00 for the twenty-four pack, sampled at home in front of Costco on 18-June-2017 on Father’s Day with my two lovely girls in Washington.

Nice, ever so slightly hazy copper and bronzed coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat for a while. Aroma of grass, light pine, some mellow citrus and a touch of flowers - a touch of malt also around, but not much else. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal flavour at first with a relatively balanced malt kick and some light hop bitterness noticeable on the tail end. Aftertaste is a touch sweet, with a lot of herbal notes, dry hay and some grassy bitterness noticeable at the end. Overall, a nicely balanced beer that doesn’t show like a typical IPA, but at the end of the day, isn’t a bad option, especially for the price! Is this worth going out of the way for? Absolutely not. However, is it as bad as these ratings would imply? Definitely not. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased as a full case (of course) at Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 03-May-2017 for US$19,99/twenty-four pack, sampled at home next to Costco on 15-June-2017.
