Description
Jaanihanso is a family owned cider house and orchard on a historic farm dating back to the 18th century. Our family bought Jaanihanso in 2000. Our knowledge of the farm’s history originates from the papers that we found from the house, and from older villagers stopping at our gate to reminisce about the “old days”.
The renovation story of the estate has been in sync with our own growing pains. Some years with larger construction works, some years not that much, but there has been constant mutual bettering. In 2013, when the last bits of the house had been refurbished, the car had to move out from its brand-new pigsty-turned-garage to make room for cider. Famously, a garage is the best place to start a venture.

750 ml corked & caged green bottle, as Jaanihanso Perry Brut Nature Vintage 2017 (Méthode Traditionnelle). From Être Gourmet, Belgium. ABV is not mentioned on the label. Crystal clear and very pale golden colour, pours vigorously sparkling with a large but shortlived white head. Nice aroma of pears, hints of sulphites. Carbonation \"grows in the mouth\". The flavour is on the dry side, but has still some residual sweetness. Flavour of pears and pear peel, a slight acidity with some tannins, noticeable sulphites.

Wazig bleek geel met wit randje. Droge peer, licht zuur, fris, beetje melig, twijgjes, tannines en water. Ik vind het nog wel prettig drinkbaar maar het is wel erg droog. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cognac Cask Aged Dry Cider (2018) on 19 Feb 2021 at 23:24 - Score: 7. Original review text: Vintage 2018. Hazy pale straw. Dry, light sweet and light sour apple juice. Green twigs, cottony softening from Cognac barrel notes. Tight with some BA complexity. Enjoy this a bit more than last time I tried it.

Bottle shared at home. Slight hazy pale yellow wirh no real head. Very dry earthy apple, moss, dry oak, leathery, mineral funk, pear skins. I don't get much cognac... Light bitter, no sweetness and a hint of tart apple. Over light bodied, quite dry. A little bland and dusty dry.
