Description
Like many of the great stories of American entrepreneurs, our story begins in a garage! The first batch of beer was made in the spring of 2003. It wasn't great, but we drank it and it sparked a passion that eventually morphed into The B.R.I.
More than anything else, The B.R.I. is a gathering place for Craft Beer drinkers in and around Mesa, Arizona. It's Independent and Local. It's the third place, not home or work, but the place you want to be with your family, your friends and a pint of your favorite beer!
The Brew pub hold's a special place in our heart. It's the town hall. It's church to some. It's where the revolution began! For hundreds of years, people have went to their local taverns, pubs or breweries and now our brewery and restaurant is part of that Craft Beer history in Mesa.

32oz crowler pours with a murky copper to gold body that supports a nice off white head of foam. The aroma offers up cantaloupe, grapefruit and pineapple flowing into a mild oat note. The taste delivers a smooth punchy citrus and tropical fruity goodness. First a thin mint hop sensation is noticed before juicy tangelo, cantaloupe and some grapefruit notes come to the surface. Behind those notes is a modest layer of bitter grapefruit, lime and pineapple meet up with a thin soft oat sensation. The massive ABV is very well hidden too. Dangerous beast. Solid brew.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a murky pale straw gold body that supports a thin off white head of foam. The aroma offers up a good dose of grapefruit juice followed by thin citrus and mango and then a dash of oat like notes toward the end of the draw. The taste is somewhat light, punchy and refreshing. The grapefruit juice goes to work straight away with a mildly tart juiciness that creates a refreshing crushable sensation. To midway a modest degree of citrus hop juiciness is joined by floral hops, some spicy hops and then a pleasing grounding oat like maltiness. This is a terrific refreshing brew that will be a perfect way to combat the heat this summer.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear deep gold body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up malt nuanced citrus hops and a bit of spicy onion and floral hoppiness. The taste delivers a slightly chewy blend of juicy clementine, bitter floral hops, spicy bitter malt sweetened onion and then a thin sweet maltiness creating a slight crystal malt sensation. Into the finish the hoppy bitterness rolls off some leaving more room for softer hop flavor notes and a thin stream of sweet maltiness. Darn tasty IPA.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear watery clear straw gold body that supports a full white head. The modest aroma offers up thin malt nuanced lemon and a flowery sensation. The taste delivers restrained tart brightness sliding into flowery hibiscus and thin sugary sweetness. This is easy drinking and refreshing. Nice.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear deep gold body that supports a near white head of foam that leaves behind some sheet lacing. The mild aroma, from an aroma killing tumbler, offers up hints of spicy hops and citrusy grapefruit and then a hit of dankness at the end of the draw. The taste delivers a pleasing depth of juicy grapefruit, bitter grapefruit and bitter spicy hoppiness. The bitterness dominates and pulls up some dankness into the finish just as a modest cracker like maltiness bubbles to the surface. This is tasting pretty damn nice as the hop bitterness keeps it lively and fairly sessionable.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear copper body that supports a nice looking light tan head. The aroma offers up pear, thin pear cotton candy, spicy Saison yeastiness and then thin layers of citrus and malts. The taste delivers smoothness and quickly getting into spicy Saison notes and then some citrus like hoppiness. To midway a modest level of sweet apple and pear join in. This is nice with plenty going on and ends on the dry side. I love Saisons that stay away from the sweetness. Nice one.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear amber to copper body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up brown sugar, prunes, dates and then ginger with a sliver of cinnamon in the background. The taste delivers plenty of winter like spice notes as well as some raisins and prune sweet fruitiness. The body thins out to midway as it picks up a bit of a brown sugar sensation. Not my thing but it does create a nice balance of beer and spice notes.

On tap at Beer Research Institute, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out a boatload of piney hops and just enough crisp biscuity malt to back. Flavour brings out lots of piney hops, followed by biscuity malt. Fairly astringent, with a bitter finish. Not amazing, but it's solidly done.

On tap at Beer Research Institute, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral and fruity esters, and saison yeast. Flavour is dry, with saison yeast and dry floral notes. Inauthentic and with a strange yeast profile. Not a fan.
